Automotive is a new category for Dyson; the launch of the Dyson EV gives us opportunity to re-invent how shoppers experience cars and how owners are cared for.
The Senior Retail Concept Designer is a key role in designing how our physical experiences look, feel and operate.
The Senior Retail Concept Designer needs to understand the problems with automotive retail today, be able to work cross-functionally and design the best experiences for our owners.

Accountabilities

Lead concept design for multiple service and retail briefs;

  • Understand, interrogate and champion physical briefs; ensure deliverables are truly owner centric, different and better.
  • Oversee design and development of creative mock-ups and prototypes.
  • Cultivate effective ways of working across teams

  • Attend weekly creative review meetings and lead discussions on your active projects for review.

  • Proactively raise risks and identify solutions.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s design degree or equivalent.

  • Experience in automotive retail and service design preferred

  • Experienced user of 3D CAD (Solidworks is an advantage).

  • Experienced user of 3DS Max.

  • Experience user of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.

  • Working knowledge of model making/prototyping, materials and production processes.

  • Cardboard engineering experience is desirable.

  • Confident to challenge automotive convention.

  • Able to empathise with customers/owners and keep them in mind when making decisions.
