Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the global footprint. The physical security of property assets is a key element of ensuring Dyson people, commercial assets and reputation are sufficiently protected to meet the strategic Blue print.
The Senior Technical Security Engineer, reports to the Technical Security Engineering Team Lead in the Dyson Technical Security Team. The Team reports through to the Global Technical Security Manager and is geographically positioned at the Malmesbury Security Centre of Excellence.
In short, the role will be accountable for contributing to an effective global technical security service, supporting design, projects, commissioning and maintenance programmes.


Key Accountabilities:
  • Working with the Technical Security Integrators and Technical Security Programme Manager, help to deliver global technical security projects where directed, through in-house installation and liaising with our 3rd Party Installers.
  • Installation of UK/EMEA Dyson technical security elements; CCTV IP and analogue infrastructure, access control platforms, intruder detection systems (IDS) and communications systems where required.
  • Conducting planned maintenance of the technical security solution as part of a formal and measured programme
  • Provide 1st line support to end users to help resolve any local systems issues either directly or using our 3rd party installers.
  • Participate in the technical security response capability for incidents and unexpected activities as directed 
  • Supporting the Technical Security Team in service monitoring and supplier management
  • Once tasked, communicating application problems / issues and work timelines to stakeholders, including business customers and end users, as appropriate 
  • Project participation as directed, conducting the security installation and commissioning elements, either directly or in partnership with a 3rd party partner or local service provider, to ensure installation/commissioning delivery on time 
  • Ensuring quality and integrity of installation and that of any partners to the Tech Team Standard
  • Provide training sessions on new procedures, techniques and solutions to 1st line system users as directed
  • Developing an effective relationship with key security dependency partners; namely IT and Maintenance
  • Supporting the Global Technical Security Manager with any other element of the Group Technical Security remit as directed

Service Monitoring:
  • Conducting of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 technical security minimum standard is maintained 
  • Review and make recommendations to maintain / improve site security systems and installation processes
  • Aligning with the Dyson behaviours, code of ethics and other Dyson working practices
  • Aligning with the Group Security annual blueprint
  • Maintain accurate and effective system documentation as associated with the role
  • Provide analytical data and reporting to support delivery of the Technical Team KPIs


  • Electrical Installation Certification
  • Intruder Alarm Installation (Honeywell)
  • Installation/Commissioning and maintenance of IP based CCTV
  • Installation/Commissioning and maintenance of access control systems, preferably one of the following, Lenel, C-Cure, S2, Honeywell.
  • Sound working knowledge of Network based architecture
  • Experience in Electronics is desirable
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-changing environment
  • Resourceful and innovative approach to resolving challenges and faults.
  • Experience in server management, backup, recovery and SQL Management.
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office applications
