Based in the UK Technology Development Team, the role is to become a technical expert and manage activity related to product performance to deliver successful projects for manufacture in South East Asia.


Working within a multi-disciplinary team including Structures, Materials, Acoustics, Pick Up and Fluids the candidate would play a key role in the team's deliverables, driving efficiency and quality improvement from concept through to tooling.


The role reports to a Team Lead and is responsible for planning, managing and delivery of projects to production. The role requires working closely with Design and Research Teams, Project Managers, Claim, Marketing and Legal to drive market leading product performance.


  • Delivering projects from transfer at NPI through to SEA. Other non-project related separation and filtration responsibilities

  • Managing of own day-to-day priorities and ensuring collaboration between all parties involved in the design and assessment of product performance. Giving clear direction on what is required to deliver performance in the floorcare department at Dyson.  

  • Report writing: discuss all relevant performance criteria with relevant teams (design, engineering, commercial, legal, IP, standards, compliance etc) to raise an accurate portrayal of performance against the vision and specification. Ensure all changes are documented and traceable, supporting the Design Team delivering parts on cost, on spec and on time for each project.

  • Challenging and asking questions, getting involved, exploring opportunities and thinking about how to tackle the challenge. Pro-actively engaging with the team to take on the task in hand. Identifying problems and using available engineering resource and toolsets to manage/solve.

  • Teamcenter (electronic documenting system): Documenting performance history and navigating requirements in order to deliver to vision and specification.

  • The candidate will be working closely with the team and other project stakeholders on non-project related tasks, sharing information, mitigating risks, giving accurate project updates and ensuring they are invested in the team and business long term goals. They will also be regularly working with South East Asia engineers to help deliver successful products to market.


      • Degree in relevant discipline (eg Mechanical Engineering), or equivalent experience.

        CAD/CFD skillsets preferred but not essential. Team player and self-starter

      • Experience in relevant field (e.g. product development, filtration, particle analysis) demonstrating a good understanding of New Product Design and Development process, as well as an appreciation of standards.

      • Excellent communication skills, able to listen, and convey complex issues concisely and accurately. Able to tailor communication to the right audience, share the right information with the right people at the right time, be professional, clear and concise

      • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, able to build productive working relationships within the team and across the business and influence others

      • Analytical mind-set, attention to detail and ability to challenge assumptions and convention, always looking for new and better ways of doing things

      • Proactive problem-solver, able to navigate complex processes and systems

      • Self-motivated and competent, with excellent time management skills. Able to handle demanding workload, manage multiple projects at once and deliver on time

      • Experience of delivering projects in a production environment

      • Good knowledge of Dyson product range

      • Good English language skills (written and verbal).
