Description

Working in a DSDM Agile environment the Service Transition Lead provides cross functional analysis for the transition of Group IT Delivery changes into production service. Reporting to the Release Lead and supporting all Dyson markets globally, they work with Release Leads, Market Leads and Production Service Owners to ensure deployment windows and service requirements are fully understood, clearly communicated, and any associated risks are captured and mitigated prior to production deployment. You will work with Production Service Owners to provide an effective bridge between the Delivery and Run Team Functions, ensuring Service Owners are ready to accept and support new changes, and post implementation lessons are correctly captured and managed appropriately with process owners.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate cross functional strategies on the provisioning and use of common tools and shared environments 
  • Take responsibility for the publication and communication of the Group IT Delivery Service Transition Release process and supporting templates 
  • Work with stakeholders across IT to ensure Group IT Delivery change documentation is published to expected quality standards in line with release timescales 
  • Work with project teams and production service owners to ensure effective training and knowledge transition from Delivery to Run 
  • Work with stakeholders across IT to ensure technical resources are available and have been correctly provisioned in line with release timescales 
  • Work with business change managers to ensure key stakeholders and user communities are engaged and are correctly informed prior to change deployments 
  • Work with Release Leads, developers and technical teams to create, test and stage production deployment data transports for all approved changes 
  • Work with production service owners and incident managers to monitor and report on post change performance 
  • Chair failed change reviews and ensure Group IT Delivery lessons and actions are captured, understood and managed with the appropriate process owner Leadership 
  • Identify, influence and lead the implementation of best practice initiatives that improve on the efficiency and effectiveness of the Service Transition function. 

Skills

  • Strong change, release and service transition skills, in a continuous delivery environment 
  • Ability to build, implement and direct service transition principles that meet the quality and timescale objectives for delivery into production 
  • Knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation 
  • A proven back ground in change management, release management or service transition
