Description

Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the company. This role has the remit to revitalise operational security best practice at the established Dyson campus at Malmesbury in Wiltshire. 
The Malmesbury Site Security Manager reports through to the Regional Security Director EMEA within Dyson Group Security.

Accountabilities

This role will be focused on building a “Centre of Excellence” security program at the Malmesbury site, building in Security By Design principles with all stakeholders as further development occurs at this strategically important Dyson site. The variety of activities that occur at this site, including a rapidly developing university campus make this a fascinating role for the right candidate. 
You will be responsible for the management of all aspects of physical security of the Malmesbury estate including security by environmental design and integrating effective process development for both security officer resources and security systems i.e. CCTV, Access Control and other systems. You will require a leading-edge thought process commensurate with Dyson as a global technology company along with the technical ability to execute. The role will require the ability to demonstrate detailed operational performance measurements, aligned with all business interests on site. The role will have a remit to design, deliver and implement site specific procedures within the Group Security, Security Management System (SeMS) Framework. The role will also provide a professional interface with stakeholders, ensuring that the necessary protections are in place for core business and they are appropriately secured against any identified threats. The role will provide cross functional / cross platform support and escalation for complex security solutions, troubleshooting issues across infrastructure and applications to ensure efficient incident resolution and remediation. 

Additional responsibilities to include:
  • Delegated, overall site security responsibility on behalf of Group Director of Security. 
  • Effective leadership of all security resources at site.
  • Capture of monthly reporting on KPIs, loss prevention and detection.  
  • Threat led decision making and maintenance of the threat awareness levels. 
  • Development of a site risk profile and operating level.
  • That an integrated site technical security strategy is executed and maintained in consultation with the multiple stakeholders and Group Technical Security Team.
  • That messaging of the security programme to all on site customers is delivered within the Dyson Group Security ethos, aligned with SeMS and the Dyson behaviours.
  • In consultation with the Regional Security Director EMEA, budgets are properly planned for, controlled, managed and executed
  • Active participation in local security working groups
  • Provision of security leadership and guidance to all staff during planning and implementation of special events, functions and VIP visits
  • Be the focal point for all security related issues that affect the Malmesbury site and therein ensure Group Security remits are supported, including a proactive and visible role in security awareness programs; security on-boarding and induction processes. 
  • Playing a proactive role on the incident management team and development of future crisis management procedures.
  • Develop effective partnerships with Facilities and HSE.
Administration:
  • Working to company guidelines and standard procedures:
  • Operate and maintain effective record keeping and administrative service.
  • Record and monitor all costs and expenses for all security budget lines.
  • Provide reporting on Security performance or incident occurrence incl. financial impacts.

Skills

It's expected that you will have extensive experience (at least 5 years minimum) in a physical security, site leadership role coupled with an appropriate qualification in a security-related subject or computer science, information systems, technical engineering, or business administration. Alternative demonstrable experience. CISSP qualification preferred.  
You will come with deep knowledge of industry best practice relating to technical security solutions strategy, design and implementation, and experience with security control room practices is preferred.
It's envisaged that the successful candidate will have strong computer skills and be comfortable with Microsoft Office and databases. While we don't need an expert you will need the skills to transform complex subjects and data into manageable bites for senior leadership through PowerPoint or Excel.
Final, important criteria includes:
  • Strong background in Management of security service delivery within an equivalent organisation.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Understanding of and experience of working to national and international security standards i.e. BS 16000:2015, CCTV Code of Practice, etc.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience within corporate environments, preferably in an engineering industry.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Experience in university security, risk management or HSE environment preferred
