About us

The China IT Solutions Architect is a key architect role within the Global IT team and is accountable for the overall design and strategy across the China IT landscape used at Dyson today and in the future.

About the role

The role will be responsible for the solution architecture design of Dyson China’s IT landscape, supported by a wider IT Design function, which includes;

  • Core SAP Back Office (ECC) capabilities to include;

    • Covering the needs of the existing Sales / Logistics and Finance based design changes

    • This includes facilitation of regular design based changes ranging from the introduction of new solution integrations to the resolution of change requests to improve system capability

    • Playing a key role in ensuring segmentation of systems where required to support China data legislation

  • Core front office system capabilities to include;

    • Covering the needs of the existing Retail / Digital / Owner Experience and Customer service based design changes

    • This includes facilitation of regular design based changes ranging from the introduction of new solution integrations to the resolution of change requests to improve system capability


  • The role will ultimately require work in the following key areas

    • Supporting In-Flight Product Solutions based projects (Immediate Term)

      • Supporting the delivery lifecycle with the 4 key stages of Design

        • Concepting

        • Solution on a Page

        • High Level Design

        • Low Level Design

      • Providing design assurance and oversight throughout the lifecycle of a project

      • Ensuring (where needed) appropriate design governance through a pre-established Design Authority

    • Definition of an overall China IT Solutions strategy (Longer Term)

      • Defining a future systems roadmap for change founded in the direction the business is taking

      • Ensuring the architectural direction and decisions of in-flight projects are aligned to that future roadmap for change  

      • Where appropriate creation of Supplier RFI’s and support for RFP’s for any future state solution selection

      • Finally, the role also needs to contribute to / and ensure that the above capabilities fit with the next major design step change for China – segmentation of system to ensure compliance with China data legislation

 

The role will require interaction with external teams / contacts outside of IT to include;

  • Working with senior business stakeholders to elicit business plans that drive overall solution design and strategy for the Dyson China IT landscape.

  • Working with third parties and partners to understand future trends, innovation and opportunities to build roadmaps for the Dyson China IT landscape

  • Working with the wider Dyson IT design function to ensure the China IT landscape, integrates with the wider Dyson IT landscape.

 

 

Within IT the role will require the following;

  • Produce detailed design specifications, maintain application portfolios, develop strategies and support business reviews across all landscapes

  • Ensure adherence to the core IT Application Strategy and Design principles

  • Alignment with Technical Architecture design teams to ensure the designs and strategy for the China IT solutions applications align to the overall direction of the underlying technical architecture

  • Working with the Programme Management and Service Delivery functions to ensure designed solutions move seamlessly into project execution and support

About you

Experience Required

  • A proven track record of enterprise level application design / application architecture is essential

  • A proven track record of senior level business engagement / stakeholder management is essential

  • Experience of working within an established and efficient global design team is highly desirable

  • A strong grounding in general technical architecture to include hosting (On Premise & Cloud), storage and networks is highly desirable

  • Experience within Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF) would be beneficial
  • Experience in supporting project delivery involving both in-house and third-party design, development, testing and project management
  • Understanding of security principles and policies ensuring these are applied to the design of solutions
  • Able to act as a liaison between technical, functional and support functions both on and offshore
  • Able to maintain a working knowledge of new technologies and practises to support further innovation for projects
