Description

Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the global footprint. Group Security forms a key role in ensuring Dyson people, assets and reputation are sufficiently protected at all times.
The Senior Technical Security Engineer - Americas, will have a functional reporting line to the Global Technical Security Manager in the Dyson Technical Security Team, and sit within the Dyson Group Security Americas team, preferably out of our Chicago office.
In short, the role will be a regional role accountable for contributing to an effective 1st line technical security service supporting design, projects and maintenance programs; across the Americas region.

Accountabilities

  • Working with the Global Technical Security Manager, assist in the development of technical security designs for our new buildings, ensuring the designs are in line with the Global Technical Security Standards.
  • Working in partnership with Technical Security Integrators and the broader Group Security team, help to deliver Americas technical security projects, through in-house installation and liaising with our 3rd Party Installers.
  • Installation of the Dyson technical security elements; CCTV, access control platforms, intruder detection systems (IDS) and communications systems where required.
  • Conducting planned maintenance of the technical security solution as part of a formal and measured program.
  • Provide 1st line support to end users to help resolve any local systems issues either directly or using our 3rd party installers.
  • Participate in the technical security response capability for incidents and unexpected activities, as directed. 
  • Supporting the Technical Security Team in service monitoring and supplier management in region.
  • Project participation as directed, conducting the security installation elements, either directly or in partnership with a 3rd party partner, to ensure installation delivery on time. 
  • Provide training sessions on new procedures, techniques and solutions to 1st line system users, as directed.
  • Developing an effective relationship with key security dependency partners; namely IT and Maintenance.
  • Supporting the Global Technical Security Manager with any other element of the Group Technical Security remit as directed.
  • Conducting of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 technical security minimum standard is maintained. 
  • Review and make recommendations to maintain / improve site security systems and installation processes.
  • Aligning with the Dyson behaviors, code of ethics and other Dyson working practices.
  • Aligning with the Group Security annual blueprint.
  • Maintaining accurate and effective system documentation as associated with the role.
  • Providing analytical data and reporting to support delivery of the Technical Team KPIs.

Skills

  • Intruder Alarm Installation (Honeywell).
  • Installation and maintenance of IP based CCTV.
  • Installation and maintenance of access control systems, preferably one of the following, Lenel, C-Cure, S2, Honeywell.
  • Sound working knowledge of Network-based architecture.
  • Experience in locking hardware and other physical security equipment used to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-changing environment.
  • Resourceful and innovative approach to resolving challenges and faults.
  • Experience in server management, backup, recovery and SQL Management.
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office applications.
