About the role

The Student Support Coordinator supports the work of those two key activities at the Dyson Institute: Student Support and Professional Development . We’re looking for a determined, self-starting individual with excellent attention to detail who can provide administrative support to the team. You will arrange the logistics for events such as our offsite well-being and development days, and a range or professional development activities. Good IT skills are an important requirement for the role, as you will have to work with our finance portals and other IT systems.

Accountabilities:

Student Support

  • Organising the logistics of termly well-being and development days and other onsite and offsite events.
  • Assisting with Student Support Advisor diary management. 
  • Supporting the financial processes behind the activity.
  • Ensure that the online learning platform is up to date.

Professional Development

  • Organising the logistics and operations of PD activities including ordering resources, coordinating dates of activities. Liaising with external suppliers and speakers.
  • Supporting the financial processes behind the activity.

General

  • Putting in place processes and systems to support the activity, including information management.
  • Making sure the training log for the team is kept up to date.
  • Coordinating training for the DIET team as and when required (i.e. mental health, diversity and inclusion, etc.)
  • Tracking spend against budgets. 
  • Collaborating with other members of the broader DIET team.
  • Providing admin support to the Head of Professional Development and Undergraduate Experience.

About you

  • Experience of arranging events preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Good IT skills are an important requirement for the role, as you will have to work with our finance portals and other IT systems.
  • Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.
  • Confident self-starter, able to work proactively, think ahead and multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
