Description

The Talent Partner (TP) for Group Functions & Commercial will be responsible for developing the talent agenda across exciting and diverse business groups that are located in UK and Singapore but also in our global markets. This person will report to the Global Talent Director and partner with the senior leaders and their leadership teams for each Function and for Commercial as well as work with the HRBPs who support these business areas to develop, retain, and move talent across Dyson globally. There will be some modest travel required.
Dyson has ambitious plans for growth, and continued progression of our organisation. As in ever fast-growing business, there is a need for each individual no matter their role to be both hands-on and executional, whilst also engaging in blue-sky and strategic thinking for the future.

Accountabilities

Leading Talent Management & Development
  • Understand the business priorities and organisation capability needs; design, implement and embed a calendar of activities that will enable Dyson to manage and develop our talent
  • Develop business partner relationships with key stakeholders to support on their business priorities such as Leadership Team development and evolution, developing Dyson culture and DNA
  • Develop strong relationships with the HR leads in each business area to build a partner relationship with good collaboration and challenge
  • Develop strong relationships with CoE colleagues in L&D as well as Talent Partners for other regions and business units to understand, as well as influence, our polices and processes, best practice, new thinking, and to bring the needs of your business areas into the agenda

Talent Management
  • Fully understand the Dyson talent management philosophy
  • Support the business areas in embedding a strong talent management approach
  • Lead the region Talent Review process, ensuring each business area fulfills the cycle and that there is a global-level review with actions plans
  • Ensure that regular workshops and training takes place in each area; identify the best means for delivery both inhouse and outsources, where necessary facilitate this training in partnership with the local HR team
  • Bring expertise and new thinking to our approach to managing talent

Talent Development
  • Identify top talent across the region and ensure each has a development plan and feature on the Dyson talent map 
  • Identify talent development solutions and initiatives for business areas, in partnership with CoE colleagues for alignment on methodology
  • Represent Group & Commercial talent and facilitate talent moves
  • Ensure that we have great data on our talent that we can use for business purposes

Succession Planning
  • Align with the CoE to implement our succession planning process to give us visibility for critical roles and key individuals
  • Maintain the succession planning approach and proactively lead/manage the actions required to maintain a healthy succession plan
  • On an annual/regular basis, work with the HRBPs and Reward team on the forecasting of resource needs to represent the internal flow of talent with the need to recruit new talent

Programmes & Training
  • Work with CoE colleagues to fully understand the suite of development and training programmes that exist across Dyson; Leading Dyson, Leading Leaders/Connected Leaders, Leading Others, Leading Self, Early Careers, and influence development by sharing the needs of your region.
  • Ensure that the programmes are well attended by colleagues and that there are mechanisms to bring the learning back into work
  • From time-to-time deliver training or facilitate workshops across the business areas
  • Partner with CoE team when designing new initiatives to ensure business areas are represented in terms of needs, culture and language requirements

Process & Systems
  • Conduct an audit of the learning and development activities in place and partner with HRBPs to deliver improvements
  • Use technology ie MS Teams, VC and others to improve collaboration and sense of one team across regions and time-zones

Global CoE Projects
  • Take a lead role on a global initiative to develop a global understanding of the impact and implementation requirements while also building a network that spans multiple markets and business areas.
