Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the global footprint. The physical security of property assets is a key element of ensuring Dyson people, commercial assets and reputation are sufficiently protected to meet the strategic Blue print.
The Technical Security Engineering Team Lead, reports through to the Global Technical Security Manager in the Dyson Technical Security Team. The Team is geographically positioned at the Malmesbury Security Centre of Excellence. 
In short, the role will be accountable for the day to day operations of our in-house engineering team. This includes installation works, maintenance programs, stock management and working with the Technical Security Integrators to deliver our global security projects.


Key Accountabilities:
  • Scheduling the Installation of our technical security systems globally as directed, including; CCTV, access control platforms, intruder detection systems (IDS), monitoring systems and communication platforms.
  • Scheduling the security system commissioning, globally if directed.
  • Prioritizing tasks and ensuring our engineering team is running efficiently
  • Planning and scheduling the maintenance programs
  • Perform quarterly one to ones with direct reports, currently 4 engineers with scope for expansion this year.
  • Communicating with key stakeholders, including business customers, managers and end users.
  • Project participation as directed, either directly or through a 3rd party partner or local service provider, to ensure implementation delivery on time
  • Ensuring quality and integrity of installation at the Malmesbury site and globally as directed
  • Developing an effective relationship with key security dependency partners; namely Global Estates, IT and Maintenance
Service Monitoring:
  • Conducting of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 technical security minimum standard is maintained 
  • Review and make recommendations to maintain / improve security systems, maintaining accurate records and drawings as required.
  • Aligning with the Dyson behaviours, code of ethics and other Dyson working practices
  • Maintain accurate and effective system documentation
  • Exercising cost control to assure good Team financial governance


  • Experience in managing an engineering team preferably within a building site environment
  • Strong character
  • External team, stakeholder management skills 
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast changing environment
  • Resourceful and innovative approach to resolving challenges
  • Experienced in either Electrical Installation or Security Systems Installation
  • Experience in the creation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
