Being the heart of Dyson’s technology, Technology Development team specializes in research, design and development (RDD) where we continuously challenge convention, try & error, and learning to improve every little aspect as along the journey. We aim to solve problems that other ignores, thus innovation and teamwork is the core of our team.
In Malaysia Development Centre, Technology Development Floorcare team focus on delivering fast paced project, bringing product such as vacuum cleaners and wet cleaners to the market in their tip top quality. The team consists of Technology Systems team that specialize in Fluid Dynamics & Thermodynamics, Product Performance team that handles vacuum Pick Up and Separation Systems, Simulation team that performs computational predictions, and nevertheless Acoustic & Vibration team that improves customer experience via noise reduction and control. With such variety of experts working together, there are plenty of opportunities for knowledge exchange.
About the role
We are looking for an Acoustics and Vibration Engineering Intern for a 3 to 4 months internship. Aside of the standard training that Dyson provides, we will also be coaching you in Acoustic & Vibration related technical knowledge to execute the project. The nature for the project will be related to new methodology development for the purpose of improving or revamp existing analysis strategies. Some of your tasks could include:
Conceptual design on a new methods (and physical test equipment if necessary) to achieve the required objectives.
Creating robust and effective analytical tools/models that helps in analyzing/optimizing the method.
Document the developed strategy in details for future knowledge sharing and improvement opportunities.
Implementing the new methodology in current projects to contribute useful insights in development stage.
We are looking for the brightest mind with the greatest attitude. You will be contributing in expanding the team’s capability and knowledge through your work, thus a highly motivated individual in task execution, learning and communication would really stand out among the competition. It would be advantageous if you are:
Studying towards Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Mechatronics or related discipline
Able to commit for at least 12 weeks and graduating by Q3 2024
Able to relocate to Senai, Johor to work in our research premise during the internship period
Able to showcase your creativity and initiative in project development, solving problems and proposing alternatives (examples of your university activities or academic experience is welcomed)
Willing to invest in building network with co-workers for the purpose to improve your skills and obtain resources for the project’s completion
Passionate about Dyson and our technology, giving constructive feedbacks to better our products in the market
