About the role

  • Execute aerodynamic design and analysis of turbo machinery components and investigate potential new enabling technology utilising a variety of experimental and numerical fluid analysis/ simulation platforms.

  • Design aerodynamic components for test rigs, conduct aerodynamic tests, analyse results and capture findings in engineering reports.

  • Summarise findings and communicate to other members of RDD including senior managers and directors.

  • Incorporate new analysis methodologies into CFD workflows.

About you

  • A good first degree or higher in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered).

  • An excellent working knowledge of fundamental thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, with particular attention to turbomachinery.

  • Experience of turbomachinery design techniques and analysis design tools would be an advantage (Concepts NREC; Numeca; Fluent; Ansys etc.)

  • Experience in automation of design and CFD analysis tasks, numerical optimization and DOE techniques would be an advantage.

  • Practical experience in the measurement of pressure, temperature and flow measurement.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Good analytical ability and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information in written and verbal format.

  • Ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas, in line with core Dyson values.
