Analytics Technology Manager

The role

As Dyson’s Analytics Technology Manager, you will define the analytics tools strategy the full Dyson community, including design of the integration with the data platform, governance and provisioning operating model and security management. You’ll be the integral common tie between analytics teams across the organisation. You will empower and connect this network of global teams, fostering collaboration and driving aligned used of modern analytics technologies.

The role

You will play an essential role in ensuring new technologies are used to boost analytics capabilities. As a thought leader in Analytics tools and platforms, you will be involved in deciding how we use technologies with the DDE (Dyson Data Environment). You will guide business on how to leverage these effectively and consistently.

In addition to leading on technology usage, you will be responsible for identifying and launching a series of initiatives aimed at greater coordinating efforts and boosting the community.

Responsibilities will broadly fit into two areas – Technology and Community


  • Thought leadership and technical credibility, defining, championing and driving adoption of the tools strategy and use of analytics tools across Dyson
  • Leading collaborative assessment of new technology and defining adoption and use cases to match Dyson needs and landscape – ensuring we are using best in class and are early adopters for high impact technology
  • Leading excellence in tool use by example and mentorship 
  • Ensuring solid working relationship, common technical language, approach and goals across analytics teams
  • Partner with the business to develop proof of concepts that accelerate their ability to deliver analytics – including assembling and leading diverse teams for Data Hackathons and similar events underpinned by technology
  • Proactive communications with the 200+ business users across satellite teams who develop insights using analytics tools
  • Able to shape and hold large scale events, engagement sessions and workshops to develop and embed a constantly fit for purpose innovative analytics tools strategy


  • Work closely with Data Architecture and Solution Architecture teams to ensure new technology decisions are well-informed, and operating models robust
  • Maintain an up to date and forward-looking tools strategy, bringing analytics leaders across Dyson with you
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with technology partners, being the community interface for vendor engagement
  • Design and own processes underpinning the provision of GCP Sandboxes, Team projects and analytics tools within DDE
  • Collab with Community Lead on Tech Surgeries, New start boot camps, tech training
  • Directing and instructing the third party technical resources who administer the analytics platforms and managing correspondence between the support team and the vendor on these issues
  • Proactively ensure monitoring and stability of analytics technology  working with the Service operations manager and third parties – tenaciously achieve resolution of issues impacting users

Person specification / Core Competencies:

  • You will be a well-rounded data professional, likely with experience across multiple functional areas and industries
  • Strong knowledge of modern platforms tools and ability to make recommendations which will enable excellent analytics
  • Ability to build and sustain a large network of stakeholders, underpinned with strong communications skills
  • Skills and experience in running workshop and events and the EQ to know which techniques will work best with audience and subject matter
  • Good commercial knowledge to be able to understand and explain the importance and benefits of analytics at Dyson
  • Comfortable with international travel for market visits and hackathons

Essential Experience -

  • Analytics/BI tools/platforms - ideally Tableau, Looker, R Studio, GCP
  • Cloud data platforms and solutions
  • Database management and coding - SQL, Python
  • Managing vendor relationships with modern technology companies
  • Proven success with matrix line management would be advantageous, as would experience in managing global teams.
  • Experience working in a pressurised environment, ideally in a central capacity across a global organisation
