APAC Senior Technical Security Engineer

The APAC Senior Technical Security Engineer reports through to the APAC Technical Security Manager in the Dyson Technical Security Team. 

In short, the role will be a regional role accountable for contributing to an effective 1st line technical security service supporting design, projects and maintenance programmes, across the region.

About The Role

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with the APAC Technical Security Manager, assist in the ongoing support of technical security system alterations for our buildings, ensuring the designs are in line with the Technical Security Standards

  • Working with the Technical Security Integrators, Regional Technical Security Project Managers and Global Technical Security leadership team, help to deliver regional technical security projects, through in-house installation.

  • Installation of the Dyson technical security elements; CCTV IP and analogue infrastructure, access control platforms, intruder detection systems (IDS) and communications systems where required.

  • Conducting planned maintenance of the technical security solution as part of a formal and measured programme

  • Conducting non-planned repair of the technical security systems either directly or using our 3rd Party installers.

  • Provide 1st line support to end users to help resolve any local systems issues either directly or using our 3rdparty installers.

  • Participate in the technical security response capability for incidents and unexpected activities, as directed 

  • Supporting the Technical Security Team in service monitoring and supplier management (when on site)

  • Once tasked, communicating application problems / issues and work timelines to stakeholders, including business customers and end users, as appropriate 

  •  Project participation as directed, conducting the security installation elements, either directly or in partnership with a 3rd party partner or local service provider, to ensure installation delivery on time 

  • Provide training sessions on new procedures, techniques and solutions to 1st line system users, as directed

  • Developing an effective relationship with key security dependency partners; namely IT and Maintenance

  • Supporting the Global Head of Technical Security with any other element of the Group Technical Security remit as directed

Service Monitoring:

  • Conducting of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 technical security minimum standard is maintained 

  • Review and make recommendations to maintain / improve site security systems and installation processes


  • Aligning with the Dyson behaviours, code of ethics and other Dyson working practices

  • Aligning with the Group Security annual blueprint

  • Maintain accurate and effective system documentation as associated with the role

  • Provide analytical data and reporting to support delivery of the Technical Team KPIs

About You

  • Electrical Installation Certification

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Intruder Alarm Installation (Honeywell)

  • Installation and maintenance of IP based CCTV

  • Installation and maintenance of access control systems, preferably one of the following, Lenel, C-Cure, S2, Honeywell.

  • Sound working knowledge of Network based architecture

  • Experience in Electronics is desirable

  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-changing environment

  • Resourceful and innovative approach to resolving challenges and faults.

  • Experience in server management, backup, recovery and SQL Management.

  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office applications
