Dyson create products which are different and better than the competition. These solutions are increasingly complex and require a system approach. We’re rapidly expanding our New Product Innovation team to help us manage that complexity and ultimately get our new ideas to market sooner. 

In this particular NPI team, we are responsible for leading the creation of new product and technology concepts, building on our expertise, but pushing the boundaries of innovation. 

Job Purpose:  

To develop technology and product solutions for new Dyson products. 

 

Principal Accountabilities: 

 

  • Ownership over complex technical systems and the delivery of them into product.​ 

  • Owns the communication of technical areas on a product or project​ to senior stakeholders for data led decision making.  

  • Supports the local NPI team in their technical project delivery​ 

  • Demonstrates performance of technical solutions through high quality prototypes​ 

  • Team mentorship and/or direct line management 

 

Skills Knowledge & Experience: 

 

  • Specialist knowledge in 2 or 3 category relevant disciplines  

  • Broad technical depth across a number of required areas​ – fluids, heater, integration, testing, electronics 

  • Experience to planning out work and delivering complex work packages 

  • Demonstrate good cross team collaboration ​ 

  • Smart problem solving, solution-based thinking 

  • Uses specialist knowledge to drive the technical strategy for the team​ 

  • Influences the team and senior stakeholders through technical justification and rigorous engineering.​ Drive data led decision making. 

  • Track record of technology research and driving technical rigour

  • The ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information across the business (technical and non-technical) is essential for the successful applicant.

  • Challenge conventional approaches – always look for alternative solutions which are better and more efficient.
