About the role

The role will involve leading work packages from concept to production on multiple mobile robotics projects. The responsibilities include: 
Technical authority for the design, build, test and certification of sensing sub-systems.

  • Leading the delivery of multiple  work packages across multiple projects.
  • Collaborating with Electronics, Software, Systems & Product Architects to define next generation Dyson robotics products.
  • Agreeing objectives & scopes of work, planning work packages & dependencies, monitoring  progress, and approving work.
  • Refining best practices, processes, handbooks, and guides for sensor development.

What we'd love to see:

  • Experience in capturing, refining, and interpreting requirements and specifications.
  • Lead objective assessments of different solutions to make balanced & informed decisions.
  • A proven track record of taking complex systems to production, including one or more sensors sub-systems.
  • Excellent understanding of the physical characterisation of sensors.
  • Excellent analogue and digital electronics fundamentals, analogue signal conditioning and digital processing design techniques.
  • Experience with end-of-line calibration equipment and testers.
  • Experience of identifying & resolving EMC / ESD.
  • Experience working with Layout, Signal Integrity, Thermal Modelling teams. 
  • An understanding of delivering Protective Electronic Controls & Single Fault Analysis (knowledge of IEC 60335-1, IEC 60335-2, UL 1017, UL 2595 desirable).
  • In the first year in role successful candidates will:
  • Solve novel problems with novel solutions on our next generation robotics platforms.
  • Manage project risk as part of our platform architecture leadership team.
  • Be accountable for a world class sensors development facility in Hullavington UK.
