Overview:
The Technology Development Department encompasses 3 key groups – Technology Systems, Product Performance & Acoustics and Simulation. This role sits within the Technology Systems group mainly working on fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and sensing technologies. Our Technology Systems Team is more than just a group of engineers - we are trailblazers in delivering cutting-edge technical systems (fluids, thermals, sensing technologies, etc) for Hair care and other new category products. Based in Singapore and the Philippines, our team is at the forefront of innovation, constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible in product development.
Our engineers take full ownership of delivering projects from early stages of a product until start of production levels of maturity, providing them with unparalleled exposure to the product life cycle. With access to a state-of-the-art lab, simulations, and analytical tools, they are able to harness their creativity and technical expertise to bring world-class products to market.
This position is recognized as a subject matter expert and looked upon to provide technical leadership in the wider organization and location. This individual is expected to lead cross functional team to resolve technical challenges that can span multiple projects and/or products, while demonstrating effective technical management skills. As a technical leader for the team, this individual shall provide crucial inputs towards the long-term technology roadmap for the team. The ability to effectively communicate and possibly take a leadership role in preparing and presenting complex ideas, design concepts, proposal, procedures, project and technical reviews is considered critical for success in this role. It is also desirable for individual to be able to guide and mentor the delivery junior members of towards projects.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Organizational:
- As a pioneer in Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics in the Philippines, serve as the driving force behind advancing the team, while playing a pivotal role in project development and acting as a technical pillar for the team.
- Align Technology system team’s goals with the organization's technology roadmap to contribute strategically and drive company-wide success.
- Identify and implement process improvements that streamline workflow, optimizing productivity and reducing time-to-market for projects.
- Foster Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encourage collaboration between various technology development group disciplines to unlock innovation and synergistic opportunities. Collaborate with key stakeholders to contribute valuable insights and inputs for yearly goal setting, shaping the strategic direction of our department.
- Enhance team expertise by continuously develop the technical knowledge of the Technology Systems Team to remain at the forefront of the field through training and knowledge exchange programs.
- Skilled in managing diverse stakeholders, resolving conflicts, and handling demanding. Stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Technical skills:
- Deliver comprehensive system solutions for Fluid Dynamics and/or Thermodynamics in close collaboration with design teams, taking ownership of the process to ensure successful outcomes.
- Expertise in root cause analysis techniques and the ability to map out complex issues to propose potential solutions to these issues.
- Coach and mentor less experienced engineers in technical areas of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics.
- Systematically gather information to establish facts and principles for solving complex problems spanning multiple projects or disciplines, even without precedents.
- Assess multiple technical viewpoints independently and determine the technical direction for projects/issues/risks.
- Strong organization and project planning skills to manage multiple high-priority tasks and resources concurrently.

Experience Required:
- A Masters degree in Aerodynamics/Mechanical engineering or equivalent, PhD holders are welcome to apply.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical product analysis & development, preferably in the consumer electrical appliance industry.
- In-depth knowledge on the principles and application of computational fluid dynamics.In-depth knowledge in the field of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and experimental testing.
- In-depth user in Fluent/OpenFOAM, ANSA meshing or relevant CFD and meshing softwares.
- Proficiency in utilizing Simscape and a solid understanding of 1D modeling techniques are desirable.
- Experience in hardware and software for measurement and data acquisition (e.g. Flow meters, National Instruments, FLIR, Electronics Tester, etc).
