Associate Social Media Manager

The Center of Excellence (COE), Americas is multi-disciplinary regional extension of Group (HQ) Commercial team, built to support Market-driven needs within the realm of Group-led strategies. The team increases global capability, informs strategic decisions leveraging local insights, cascades Global best practices and executes bespoke and localized Market campaigns and experiences. The COE includes Insights, Creative, Digital, Delivery, Retail Experience, and Strategic Planning which is the function responsible for the creative and social strategy, development of briefs and partnership with the Markets in developing marketing strategies and creative execution within the region. The Americas is comprised of 3 markets – US, Canada and Mexico – with South American expansion on the horizon. 

The goal of the Center of Excellence is to provide in-region support to our markets, acting as connectors to our global teams in the UK, and drive excellence across all our marketing and retail communications assets.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our COE. Reporting to a Senior Strategist, this role will work with regional teams in the US, Canada, and Mexico to manage social media accounts, as well as plan and create content for Dyson’s multiple social platforms. 

We are looking for a Social Media Manager with experience in both social analytics and community management. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication between teams, and an interest in the technology, innovation, and social advertising worlds. 

You will work closely with the campaign strategist, content makers, writers, consumer insights, analytics experts, and category marketing teams to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and deliver the desired results. You will also analyze social content performance and trends, and use this knowledge to inform partners across the company.

You will help define the future of Social at Dyson, working closely with the Markets as they develop their social expertise and working closely with Group, informing the global strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the Dyson brand in all of our social communications, working to protect our reputation and brand narrative on social.
  • Guide creative content teams responsible for developing social content. Educate them on “best practices” for different social channels and content formats. Having an interest in new and emerging platforms and formats is critical. 
  • Localize and execute global social media campaigns for Dyson, working collaboratively with teams across the US, Canada, Mexico, and in the UK. 
  • Drive the collaboration and integration among all content teams, including PR, Dyson Newsroom, Live Commerce and Influencer teams. 
  • Be the expert and keep the team smart on best practices and future opportunities. 
  • Use social listening platforms to provide marketing managers with content performance data, conversation sentiment and trends, competitive intelligence, and insights.
  • Use social analytics listening platforms to uncover social insights to include in briefs for creative assignments. These insights can come from investigating conversation themes around a particular topic area, identifying themes from influencer content, or #trending moments that the brand could leverage. 
  • Familiarity and comfort writing in a brand voice for social is key. Comfort publishing on social platforms is of utmost importance.
  • Be curious, adaptable, and open-minded. About our business, about our technology, about our customers, about social trends and new content formats, etc. Curiosity and the ability to self-teach are critical for this role.

About you:

  • 3-5 years working at an advertising, marketing, digital, or communications agency, or in-house in a social function
  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, business, anthropology, psychology, sociology or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of and experience using social listening and social media management platforms such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout Social etc. 
  • Experience with live shopping and social e-commerce desired 
  • Language: If you are proficient in Spanish and/or French, that is a big plus!
