Brand Manager – Hair Care (12 months FTC)

The key focus of the Brand Manager is to support the overall management of the haircare category across Australia & New Zealand, whilst leading the team to bring strategies to life in order to deliver commercial goals and category growth. This role is pivotal to the Dyson ANZ strategy as Hair care is a high profile, growth portfolio. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our strategy and activation in the Professional channel. This is our activity aimed at talking to haircare professionals, stylists and salons. We want to be the ‘go to’ styling tools for stylists in salons and need someone who is dedicated to bringing this to life. You will also support our consumer marketing plans across Supersonic, Airwrap and Corrale. You will be a part of a team of 3, reporting into the Marketing Manager. 

About the role

Lead Dyson hair care strategy and activities within the professional channel 
  • Lead our Professional agenda delivering our goals in the salon and stylist channel
  • Lead the cross functional team to deliver gold standard execution across all workstreams. Work with the team across paid, owned and earned media, sales, education and customer care.
  • Partner with key functions within the Dyson business to develop and execute with excellence your commercial plans
  • Work with our global team to bring initiatives and ideas to life in an effective way
  • Be the ‘go to’ person for any question or query on our professional salon agenda
  • Input into the 2022 brand strategy and support development of implement plans with a specific focus on the professional channel

Lead key projects across consumer marketing plans
  • Lead key projects across our consumer marketing plans end to end
  • Lead the cross functional team to deliver consumer marketing activations. Work with the team across paid, owned and earned media to drive awareness and sales of our consumer hair care tools
  • Work with the shopper marketing, retail and sales teams to ensure plans deliver our commercial goals
  • Work with our global team to bring initiatives and ideas to life in an effective way

Delivering New Product Development (NPD)
  • Lead the implementation of NPD initiatives within the professional salon and stylist channel to drive product awareness and sales results
  • Work with sales to deliver retailer/trade launch presentations to gain buy-in for ranging
  • Lead go to market plans for NPD across paid, owned and earned channels within the professional channel working with the cross functional team 
  • Drive internal engagement behind our NPD to go to market plans so the whole business is excited about our new technology

Lead Data Insights, Research and Analysis 
  • Manage research initiatives to validate marketing campaigns where required to deliver implementation plans
  • Conduct competitor analysis and monitor competitor strategies and recommend adjustment to brand plans where required
  • Conduct post analysis on all projects. Use data to draw relevant learning and insights, to course correct strategy where required.  Be vigilant to ensure brand building investment delivers optimal ROI. Ensure we are always learning and evolving to improve our delivery
  • Identify opportunities, and develop and drive initiatives/campaigns that will increase the commercial impact of the category

Budget Management 
  • Make recommendations on spend allocation with clear rationale 
  • Manage project budgets and ensure all spend is within forecasted investment 

Product expert 
  • Have a full understanding of all Dyson technology
  • Be the Dyson brand champion, providing guidance to all areas of the business
  • Be obsessed with the competition and keep Dyson ahead of others at all times

  • Achieve a standard of excellence in our work processes and outcomes, ensuring adherence to Dyson policies and all relevant regulatory and legal requirements
  • Promote and demonstrate Dyson values: pioneering, different and authentic
  • Promote, implement and comply with health and safety procedures

About you

  • Marketing or related tertiary degree (business/marketing)
  • Preferred experience in hair care or salon channel
  • 4 years+ experience in brand and category management 
  • Demonstrated experience in launching big NPDs (incl. consumer target & insights definition, product positioning, go to market strategy and implementation)
  • Experience in managing complex projects
  • Strong commercial acumen (full P&L understanding, experience in calculating ROI, budget management)
