Within the UK Dyson operates from a unique and exciting portfolio based around its UK Campus at Malmesbury & Hullavington with additional offices in Bristol, Oxford and London.

The Facilities Team manages and operates the UK portfolio which comprises office spaces, R&D laboratories, collaboration & innovation spaces, events spaces, warehousing and landscaped grounds.

About the role

The Facilities Team is seeking to appoint an experienced and professional Compliance Manager to assure comprehensive legal and internal policy compliance and to ensure all our buildings services and associated activities are carried out in a compliant manner, meeting all relevant regulations and specifications.

This position will play a key role in developing our approach to compliance and how we evidence the robust compliance we achieve to stakeholders, internal auditors and outside agencies. As part of the Buildings Intelligence Team this role carries weight and requires a seasoned professional who balances technical capability with pragmatism, collaboration and excellent stakeholder management skills. As a key member of the Buildings Intelligence Team within the Hard Services Pillar the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in support of the Buildings Intelligence Lead and Head of Hard Services.

Responsibilities  

  • Assure and own all compliance related issues within Facilities,

  • Drive compliance to all statutory regulations and Dyson standards / policies,

  • Create resilience and transparency regarding statutory compliance for all buildings and plant systems,

  • Clearly identify compliance gaps, proactively calling them out and developing strategies to close,

  • Clearly articulate all relevant statutory requirements,

  • Own documentation, processes and practices, assessing and advising on adjustments and/or new procedures, including safe system of work (permitting), compliance management, accident/incident investigation plus management, prevention and mitigation of future risk,

  • Ensure Facilities’ standard operational procedures and RAMS are robust and compliant,

  • Own all compliance documentation so that compliance can be rapidly evidenced to outside agencies and auditors,

  • Work with maintenance, buildings intelligence and small projects teams to ensure compliance is a part of Dyson delivery culture,

  • Track instances of non-compliance, proactively driving learning to prevent repeat,

  • Be an active member of the Buildings Intelligence Team receiving new assets delivered through project work to ensure continued compliance,

  • Ensure all assets are fully defined in terms of the asset register, scope of works to deliver, warranties, O&Ms plus as-built drawings,

  • Keep up to date with evolving UK compliance requirements,

  • Work collaboratively with both Security & Health and Safety divisions of Dyson

About you

  • Mechanical and / or electrical engineering background within building maintenance and/or services environment.

  • Auditing & training experience.

  • An industry recognised H&S qualification.

  • Proven supervisory experience of property related industry or building services management.

  • Sound legislation and safety knowledge including risk assessment training.

  • Experience / knowledge of legionella requirements.

  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance planning and guidance e.g. CIBSE, SFG20.

  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001.

  • CAFM experience and knowledge/delivery of planned maintenance schemes.

  • Initiative and Proactivity – Ability to pre-empt problems and proactively take measures to mitigate any loss of system functionality.

  • Attitude - Takes job responsibilities seriously and conducts themselves in a positive and professional manner.
