ABOUT THE ROLE

Dyson’s multidisciplinary Energy Storage development team is responsible for delivering cells from early prototypes in the UK, through to volume manufacture in a Singapore plant. The cells that the team delivers will push the boundaries of performance, power density, and efficiency. These cells will drive new high value Dyson products with step improvements over our competitors.

Dyson Global IT are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to work closely with engineering, supply chain and finance teams, in order to analyse engineering software requirements and optimise software-related impact. As a Business Analyst, you will have a significant contribution to increasing the speed at which engineering can innovate.  Your work will have a direct impact on our ability to scale prototype concepts and builds while continuing to innovate our products and processes.

Responsibilities

She/he will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to:

  • Analyse Engineering Requirements and record as Epics, and user stories using agile methodologies. And then to work with the larger team to ensure their delivery as designed.

  • Work with quality assurance and delivery teams to ensure high quality outcomes.

  • Coordinate with the different stakeholders to conduct requirement analysis

  • Support engineering in identifying the business needs, their priority, impact, and urgency

  • Understand existing software tools and their functionalities and drive software consolidation, wherever possible

  • Evaluate commercial software solutions

  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to identify the acceptable commercial terms

  • Coordinate with engineering stakeholders to establish evaluation criteria

  • Coordinate with the Design Technology team, its partners, and software vendors to ensure all prerequisites are in place prior to software evaluation

  • Create usage models to support global purchasing teams in licensing model selection

  • Engage with the mergers and acquisitions team to support the integration of newly acquired companies

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or information technology or 6 years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience working with engineering, supply chain, and finance teams

  • Domain knowledge in the manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or similar advanced engineering industry

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience with engineering software used for simulation, design, MES, ERP and PLM

  • At least 4 years experience in manufacturing 

  • Ability to independently research problem areas, facilitate meetings and decision-making processes

  • A highly disciplined individual including the ability to pay close attention to detail as well as able to handle multitasking 

  • A team player who is able to work cross functionally

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make complex technical concepts easy to understand for non-technical audiences
