As more consumers engage with Dyson, be it via more types of products, and/or across more markets, the volumes of data greatly increase. As such, the understanding, insights and usage of the data will be key to Dyson's success. 

The Global Aftersales team is integral to set up, coordinate and implement a complex Aftersales Refurb operation. They plan, implement and control efficient flow of returns and storage of goods, producing high quality and optimal output of refurbishment, and related activities between the point of returns and the point of refurbishments ready for sale to meet sales requirements.

We are looking for penultimate year students, graduating by August 2024 and who would be able to commit full-time from Jul/Aug 2023 (minimum 12 weeks).

About the role

Reporting to the Global Refurb Lead, the intern on the Aftersales organization, support Refurb Strategy and Operations team .  This role will play a role in managing Dyson’s aftersales refurb operations and work on a cross-functional team with Supply Chain, Sales and Finance on strategic Dyson projects. This role will work with vendors to help manage operations including managing project budgets, development of executive summary dashboards/KPIs to highlight aftermarket business (returns, scrap, production, sales etc.) and reporting while looking for operational improvements.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support Aftersales Refurb Team in reporting and reporting model setup, database creation and management and operational enhancements, e.g.:

    • Weekly Supply Chain Meeting: weekly consolidation of dashboards and review

    • Consolidation and Reporting of Global Refurb data from all regions such as (not limited to): forecast, outlook (clear to build), actual output

    • Analysis of returns, and other performance input to support operational improvements

  • Work on cross-functional teams on projects to support Dyson's key initiatives.

  • Seek opportunity to improve the process, systems, reporting and analytics within Dyson and be able to present recommendations and influence the organization to implement change.

  • Work with partners to transition operations, manage aftermarket logistics and work with Dyson customs on program setup and monitoring.

  • Review operations and recommend cost savings opportunities.

  • Take on ad hoc projects that improves operations and the customer experience.

  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of demand/supply plans in terms of accuracy, timeliness, coordination and communication on performance indicators, accomplished through facilitation and alignment with the Global S&OP process

About you

Working at the forefront of technology is tough so standards and expectations are high. You’ll be contributing to live projects from the start so you’ll need to be curious, hungry to learn and ready to get stuck in. But it’s not just about technical expertise. You’ll need to:

  • Be studying towards Supply Chain Management or any related discipline 

  • Graduating in 2024

  • Exposure to direct hands-on application with SAP and Ariba preferred

  • Familiarity with Data Visualization tools like Tableau would be advantageous

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Demonstrate your ability to solve problems with an analytical and logical approach

  • Be able to thrive in Dyson's fast-paced environment
