Within this function, the Global Experience Studio has the unique mission to bring Dyson technology to life, to provide the imagery, films, content, experiences and service that explain our machines, their benefits and the problems they solve for our customers. We create assets and multi-channel journeys that help our customers discover, choose, purchase, learn about and solve issues they may have with our machines.
About the programme
Dyson has embarked on a transformation journey that will deliver a new operating model, processes and technology and enable us to meet the challenges created by our growth ambitions, changing market landscape and fierce competition. Specifically, the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme will deliver new Marketing Technology systems and transform our Commercial Operations by:
  • Consolidating our global content storage into a new, state-of-the-art digital asset management platform (DAM) including digital rights management (DRM)
  • Delivering a marketing resource management solution that will support optimised content production and delivery processes (MRM)
  • Integrating this content hub with the various content delivery systems to enable a consistent experience across channels
  • Integrating our owner data into one location to enable efficient personalized content and journeys to be delivered (Marketing Cloud)

About the role

This role is based in Malmesbury, Wtilshire.  12 Month Fixed-Term Contract.
Reporting to the Business Programme Manager, the Business Data Lead will manage all data activities falling under the responsibility of the business as part of the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme.
Key accountabilities:
  • Lead all Business Data initiatives for the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme
  • Build a strong Business Data team comprising business, process and data specialists
  • Ensure effective day-to-day management of the Business Data team
  • Develop strong collaboration with the IT Delivery team around the design and implementation of data and content structures and the preparation and execution of data and content migrations
  • Define the appropriate delivery method for the Business Data team to ensure efficiency and to enable the best possible collaboration with the IT and third-party vendor teams
  • Ensure that the team’s deliverables are completed in time, within budget and to quality
  • Maintain active engagement and collaboration with other teams within the programme, e.g., IT Delivery, Solution Architecture, Product Owners, Business Analysis, Business Change
  • Set up the relevant team meetings such as agile ceremonies, progress review meetings, RAID sessions
  • Define the data and marketing content migration and cleansing strategy and templates
  • Define the master data governance approach
  • Define the metadata schema, data sources and data mapping between source and target systems (Digital Asset Management, Marketing Resource Management, Journey Building)
  • Plan and manage migration of data and content from the source or legacy systems to the new systems (Digital Asset Management, Marketing Resource Management, Journey Building)
  • Produce project plan for the Business Data team 
  • Report progress against the project plan in a timely fashion and precise way
  • Proactively identify risks and issues, develop and implement mitigations and resolutions, and escalate to the Business Programme Manager where necessary
  • Where required, manage the engagement of third-party and/or outsourced vendors to deliver any aspects of the business data scope
  • Ensure the required resources are requested and assigned to complete business data activities

About you

Project Management:
  • At least 5 years’ experience of project management including the delivery of IT system capabilities, e.g., Digital, Marketing Technologies, CRM
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methods (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) and/or agile delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, DSDM)
  • Experience of using project management tools such as MS Project, Planview, Jira or Monday
  • Ability to develop and successfully lead a multi-disciplinary project team, potentially across multiple organisations and locations (on site, remote, offshore)
  • Strong focus on quality and excellence
  • Strong leadership qualities
Data:
  • Data and content savvy, with a good understanding of the processes to produce and distribute marketing assets, and of the corresponding customer and product data and asset metadata
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the design and implementation of data and content structures and the preparation and execution of data and content migrations
  • Experience of using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools for the execution of complex data migrations
  • Knowledge and experience of Google Cloud Platform and SQL programming
