Dyson Global Supply Chain (GSC) team play an essential role in overall Dyson product development framework and structure. With our development process being dynamic and innovative, we need a strong GSC team to ensure we have the products manufactured with the best quality and cost, delivered to the markets with the right quantity on time. All of that requires a dedicated focus on operations efficiency, quality, and continuous enhancement of our Manufacture & Supply (M&S) product development and product lifecycle processes at 9 GSC functions – Manufacturing, Outsourced Operations, Upstream, Procurement, Market Supply Chain, IBP & Digital Transformation, After Sales, Operations Commercial and Strategic Programme, as well as Contract Manufacturing management and Dyson In-house Manufacturing (Dyson Digital Motor for example).
About the role
The role is responsible for driving quality and efficiency into our product development and product lifecycle GSC processes. You will need to work closely with the relevant GSC business process owners as well as other functional owners such as Dyson Delivery & Integration Office (DDIO), Quality and RDD etc., both locally and globally.
The purpose of this role is to combine subject matter expertise with change and project management skills, being the process anchor points within overall GSC product development/ lifecycle operations structure. He or she plays a lead role in the delivery of major operations transformation programs. To be effective, you should be the go-to expert within M&S product development/ lifecycle practices.
Collaborate closely with GSC process owners to ensure processes are defined with clear guidance, KPIs and governance mechanisms; whilst also driving to reduce cost, improve efficiency and effectiveness through process optimisation.
Build and maintain relationships with key GSC stakeholders and cross functional teams (DDIO, Quality, RDD etc.) globally across Dyson.
Identify process improvement opportunities within designated process areas, utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate.
Develop our ability to quickly identify process problem statement through root cause analysis and other relevant methodologies and tools.
Lead solutions implementation and drive for continuous improvements.
Play an essential role in M&S product development and lifecycle governance.
Drive the development of the required tools and KPIs to support adherence to best practices.
Work closely with the process owners and Digital Transformation team to track process performance and identify areas for improvement or support.
Focus on maximizing the benefits within GSC functions and cross-functional interactions.
Work closely with senior leadership team on change management aspects of GSC transformation programs, in terms of communication and training strategy and executions.
Be the process engagement contacts on any GSC related system implementation programs.
Ensure the required guidance and support is in place to enable end users to adhere to best practices.
Talented individual with a well-developed knowledge and understanding of Manufacture and Supply (M&S) processes and best practices.
Proven track record of developing M&S business processes.
Technical, personal and leadership credibility to work effectively with cross functional team on both working and leadership levels.
Ability to drive business change through influencing business leaders and functions using sound communication and collaborative decision-making skills.
Track record of creating and embedding change programs across multiple functions and achieving process change in global organizations.
Strong Project and Program Management skills. Expertise in process optimization tools and techniques.
Solid leader and team player, comfortable dealing with all business levels and all departments.
Ability to breakdown problems into manageable, measurable elements.
Capable of communicating complex ideas simply, and paying attention to detail without losing the bigger picture.
Problem solver with an interest in how GSC works and a desire to improve performance.
