Dyson is growing at a rapid pace, and the estates team need to not only anticipate this growth, but also ensure that both new and existing properties are set up, operated and maintained to the expected standard. To create this positive and progressive working environment the estates team needs strong administrative support in key areas – catering and events operations is one of these areas.

About The Role

The position will be based at our Headquarters in our remarkable St James Power Station office, your role would be to support the operations manager and catering team, in the organisation and running of all back of house catering and events activities. This will involve general administration activities, preparing purchase orders, liaison with suppliers and preparation of regular reports.  Being the first port of communication for catering queries, managing department emails and liaising with the team to ensure all information is cascaded to all involved.  You will have the opportunity to work with us on all new project mobilisations and co-ordinating elements to support our department.

Within this role you would support the Catering operations manager in managing spend against agreed budgets and providing monthly accurate reporting, alongside this would be responsibility for raising purchase orders and oversee purchase and payment processes for catering.

About You

  • 5 years experience in a similar role.

  • Customer services experience

  • Proficient in SAP financial software

  • Strong communicator; ability to convey complex issues concisely and accurately

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence

  • Strong analytical skills; to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions

  • Confident; comfortable when interacting with senior members of staff

  • Credible; ability to demonstrate a level of commitment. 

  • Assertive; readiness to press suppliers to take action when necessary.

  • Decisive and willingness to show initiative

  • Self-driven and able to work independently
