As finance business partners to the Category leadership, our team plays a vital role in supporting the development and execution of Dyson's financial strategies throughout the entire product lifecycle: from design and development to launch, sales, and end-of-life. This entails comprehensive commercial financial planning and analysis, effective management of business cases for Research, Design & Development (RDD) projects, as well as meticulous planning and control of Category RDD & Operations budgets.

About the role

Reporting to the Global Head of Finance (Floorcare), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our new product development resources are invested wisely in projects that will generate attractive returns on investment. As part of a collaborative effort with a diverse group of stakeholders worldwide, you will actively create, develop, and maintain financial business cases for multiple projects. Additionally, you will lead monthly Finance Health Checks, conducting in-depth reviews of business cases with senior leaders who hold key decision-making roles.

Working closely alongside the NPI, Head of Product & Ranges, RDD, Design Managers, Group Marketing, and Product Costing teams, your responsibilities will encompass the creation and maintenance of the Category 5-year plan. This entails forecasting future volumes and P&L based on the latest product range plans and business case development. Furthermore, you will consolidate vital insights to drive informed business decisions, update business cases accordingly, and provide insightful category performance analysis, leading monthly review meetings with the Commercial team. Your keen eye for detail will also be put to use as you maintain and analyse product profitability data, ensuring a thorough assessment of future product range profitability.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be actively engaged in managing the monthly Financial Health Check process for the category and participating in product development milestones sessions. You will play a key supporting role in the preparation for monthly Exec category reviews, sharing your extensive category knowledge, learnings, and insights with markets across the organization.

About you

-          At least 3 years PQE (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) in FMCG, Financial Consulting, eCommerce, or Consumer tech industries

-          Strong financial planning and analysis skills, including expertise in Business Partnering, Financial Modelling, Commercial Finance, and Finance Consulting

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional senior stakeholders

-          The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and display assertiveness when necessary

-          A strong strategic and analytical mindset, capable of developing and implementing financial strategies that align with business objectives

-          Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
