Channel Manager


Canada - Toronto Office

About the Role:

  • Collaborate, support and coordinate with cross functional teams to improve long term planning and execution capabilities based on retailer and market data in partnership with consumer insights in order to formulate a channel strategy to meet Dyson’s annual business objectives and long term strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and tap into key organizational strengths to build the strongest possible channel and sales strategy within each category
  • Minimize Sales Channel Conflict, leveraging company assets, resources and products to realize a Channel Strategy that effectively drive efficiencies with strategic partners
  • Increase decision efficiency and speed to market through stronger long term planning
  • Understand end to end total cost of acquisition by retailer and manage trading terms that align to pay for performance to improve ROI, minimize pricing arbitrage while maximizing Dyson GM, Share and Brand Health
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to maximize and leverage retailer assets to gain share of voice and share of floor to targets
  • Partner with Brand to develop optimized Channel range recommendations and transition planning
  • Optimize promo spend and efficiency to maximize GM delivery and promotional lift
  • Increase retained margin for Dyson by identifying and correcting areas of profit leakage (i.e. returns, compliance charges etc.)
  • Contribute to development and execution of Sales Strategy within the Channel Management team for supporting account level P&L engaging our cross functional partners; Drive accountability of the Sales team in the achievement of topline and bottom line objectives
  • Develop distribution, go to market and execution plans including promotional levers and allocation of inventory to maximize profit, utilizing data led customer and channel insights
  • Continually optimize short to medium term execution plans leveraging 1st and 3rd party data to support ongoing Sell In and Sell Out activity
  • Drive annual Account level channel planning in partnership with cross functional team members, including allocation of company resources, assets, product and promotion, with a goal to ensure optimized cost to serve model by Channel partner

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • +5 years in working in Sales with National Accounts with desired cross functional experience in Retail Marketing and Operations, Business Planning or Brand Marketing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Highly Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of spreadsheets – the ability to quickly understand business scenarios and model them is critical
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Shrewd – Ability to understand business drivers and make sound recommendations for action
  • Ingenious – An innovative yet objective thinker
  • Attuned – Emotionally smart; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization with positive intent
  • Fighter - Driven to get the best result; challenges themselves and others
