About the Role
The Commercial Costing Manager will be responsible for category and cost management, with the primarily responsible for product allocation, working alongside the internal stakeholders and GMP leadership with the overall Manufacturing Network Strategy. The position will manage bid pack, cost analysis & comparison as part of the business case proposal to the business. The role will be the main interface for the commercial team with the internal stakeholder, working NPI/NPD requirements for CM. From cost management, the role will need to ensure CMs are submitting costs on time, accurate and ensure validation and governance of the cost.
Key liaison and PIC (person in charge) to manage the relationship for commercial and internal stakeholders (Category, Ops, ME, Finance).
Responsible for bid pack, cost analysis, product allocation proposal and product award, meeting the cost target and timing.
Responsible for cost management including monthly cost approval, claims, cost estimation, governance and data storage.
Manage, communicate, and drive any regular and/or ad hoc tasks with the suppliers/contract manufacturers, and ensure satisfactory objectives are achieved before the deadline.
Manage, communicate, and drive any regular and/or ad hoc internal Operational / Commercial / Financial / Engineering / Project / Technical discussions and ensure objectives are achieved that are in line with Dyson’s best interest.
Review / Respond / Resolve any cost inquiries/tasks from both internal or external in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Proactively provide options to the management team so proper business / operational decisions can be made.
Provide guidance and leadership to both internal and external parties in achieving cost targets relating to Dyson Commercial.
Product allocation process and award - governance, transparent, integrity,
Dollar amount saved from the Contract Manufacturer spend vs target (3% per annual currently).
Communications, presentations, concise data, accuracy.
Tasks, issues, communications are completed within the given timeframe, while achieving the objectives.
Demonstrated leadership by providing meaningful resolutions, foresee potential issues and guide both internal and external parties in resolving these issues.
Management of both Commercial and internal relationships.
Degree in Finance or Business Management with at least 3-5 years experience within Finance/ Procurement/commercial function.
Strong commercial background within a Manufacturing/ Engineering environment
Experienced in dealing with OEM/ EMS/CM vendors.
Understanding and experience of APAC & China procurement & legal regulations.
Excellent in cost analytics and business case proposal
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Capable in planning and project management,
Strong business acumen, and strong analytics skills and spot anomalies.
Language ability in Mandarin will be an advantage
