About the role

The role location can be split between our stunning self-designed and built Malmesbury campus and our central Bristol offices. (2 days in Bristol and 3 in Malmesbury). Plus, we provide a free coach service from Bristol to Malmesbury and back every day.

The senior level Finance Analyst supports the commercial finance centre of expertise with the delivery of global investment appraisal & governance for e-commerce channels. The role supports the global commercial executive team to ensure that strategy and performance for the portfolio is aligned with the business and financial objectives of the operating model. The role will collaborate with senior business and financial stakeholders, across group and markets to (i) drive planning & investment governance, (ii) analyse and support decision-making on strategic global investments, (iii) identify investment optimisation opportunities and (iv) develop global finance tools and best practices.

Investment appraisal 

  • Support the Finance Manager and the executive team with the setting of financial guardrails across the e-commerce sales channels (, Marketplaces), helping to identify and quantify the financial implication behind strategic plans and targets, providing critical evaluation and recommendations.

  • Support business case development, investment appraisal and decision-making for e-commerce investments, working cross-functionally with commercial and IT stakeholders to assess the ROI of future planned investments. Develop post-investment analysis to track performance against objectives and provide actionable recommendations for course-correction if required. Build a repository of learning that inform future investment decisions.

  • Be an SME within the centre of expertise for the various e-commerce business & financial models, providing strategic consultation to markets on how they can leverage new ways of working to scale e-commerce in a more profitable and capital efficient way.

Global governance & capabilities

  • Partner with group and market finance to create appropriate commercial investment governance, be tireless in pursuit of embedding governance into the e-commerce investment appraisal process globally.

  • Contribute to the centre of expertise by creating e-commerce finance know-how and tools, identify best practices, and promote the execution of such practices globally.

Business partnering

  • Support the Finance Manager and the e-commerce leadership team with the development of the e-commerce strategic plan.

  • Maintain the 2yr investment pipeline schedule that supports the delivery of the strategic plan.

About you

  • Ideally part-qualified plus we can support exams and qualifications

  • Ability to understand and apply key accounting principles

  • You'll be very able and confident in building, justifying and delivering sound commercial business cases designed to win support and investment

  • As a strong communicator you can influence and interpret financial information to provide critical insight to senior management

  • You'll be able to engage others and demonstrate you're an agile problem-solver

  • Flexible and willing to adapt priorities based on changing stakeholder needs, proactively manages expectations around the quality and timing of delivery across multiple stakeholders

  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional and diverse stakeholders, with a willingness to work across global time-zones if required

  • Experience in developing new ways of working and driving global alignment to them

  • Experience within an e-commerce environment is highly desirable but your intelligence, career potential and desire to help us grow is even more important
