Commercial Finance Manager DACH (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Commercial Finance Manager DACH, you will partner with Commercial Directors and marketing functions across the DACH region. The aim of the role is to deliver financial leadership to support the teams in making the right business decisions. You will be responsible for planning and controlling marketing costs, ensuring that the right financial reporting structures are in place. Through timely analysis and insights you will become an expert on the performance of each product category. You will work closely with your business counterparts to derive and implement growth and optimisation initiatives. In order to deliver this ambitious scope, you will also have the support of a direct report, who you will coach and develop.  

Business Partnering

  • Develop a strong understanding of the key business drivers, marketing funnels per category and ROIs
  • Provide regular insights to business counterparts and support the implementation of relevant measures
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to develop robust marketing plans
  • Support and advise Commercial Directors and marketing teams in business decisions
  • Collaborate with the local, Group and regional finance teams to ensure financial forecasts and budgets are robust and sufficient to deliver the stretch targets per category

Range Planning

  • Analyse, understand and influence product range plans in relation to volume, price and mix

  • Ensure suitable tracking is in place to understand portfolio performance at a category and SKU level

  • Strategic involvement in NPD planning

Reporting and governance

  • Ensure high quality accounting and PO compliance relating to marketing spend

  • Ensure timely reporting of category performance, drivers and key actions

People Development

  • Responsible for a direct report (1 FTE)

  • Provide coaching, training and career development

About you

  • University Degree Bachelor or higher

  • Min 4 years experience of working in a high performing organization

  • Fluent in English

  • Commercial Finance experience

  • Evidence of budget control and can demonstrate financial expertise

  • Working knowledge of the retail industry, either with an electrical manufacturer or other

  • Strategic planning capability

  • Methodical business planning capability

  • High level of communication skills -  both verbal and written

  • Excellent personal and business presentation skills

  • Strong team player - capable of building and motivating teams

  • Decisive and excellent influencer

  • Self starter who sees things to completion

  • Energetic, engaging and positive approach

  • Assertive, prepared to see through plans and overcome objections
