You will play a key role in our growth of our retail stores across Northern Europe, partnering with senior sales and marketing colleagues to understand their plans and tell the stories behind the numbers. About the role
Based at our Amsterdam campus you will be an integral member of our Northern Europe Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance NEU. We support the BNL/Nordics/GB&I on BBI (Brand Building Investments) planning/analysis, Direct Retail commercial finance reporting/analysis as well as commercial finance and project-based initiatives.
Leading all commercial business partnering processes on BBI and Direct Retail you will work closely with respective functions across markets, regions to ensure that investments are planned and incurred in line with business expectations and requirements. You will drive financial intelligence to the markets together with one Senior Finance Analyst, along with:
Working closely with our commercial teams to improve the processes and outputs from their existing reporting tools in the areas of BBI and Direct Retail, leading to better alignment with the long-term goals and help us gain a better understanding of process efficiency and other business insights.
Owning and managing the delivery of first-class service through producing accurate, insightful and well-structured analysis.
Being a key finance point of contact for commercial teams for strategic decisions, alongside ensuring reporting is accurate and in cadence to financial reporting/planning requirements.
Owning forecasting and month end reporting for BBI providing accurate variance analysis on month actuals and forecast-to-forecast variances.
Developing strong ties across the markets and Dyson Business Service (DBS) to ensure a collaborative approach to improve ways of working across BBI & Commercial Finance tower areas (business/process/systems).
Drive financial capability outside of finance by providing training and supporting the team members in their business objectives and contribute to the overall financial capability building program across the region in the subject matter expert areas.
With experience within a retail finance role, you will be comfortable reviewing functional performance in the context of the wider business and have a strong understanding of the full P&L. With the ability to clearly communicate the story of the numbers you also will have:
A bias for action, with high levels of resilience and drive, able to see the strategic big picture but also to roll sleeves up and get into the detail and delivery of financial projects.
Demonstrable commercial financial planning capability at both the short-term results-focused level and the longer-term strategic view.
Excellent analytical ability – comfortable assimilating and interpreting data and information to draw out meaningful insight and conclusions, and capable of using this to influence decision making.
The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues within a matrix environment; a team player and proven business partner who can motivate and influence others.
Confidence when presenting financial information to senior non-finance stakeholders.
The ability to challenge all areas of activity, especially elements that ‘have always been done’ and recommend new approaches to meet financial objectives.
