About the Role

The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for the financial partnership of the Direct Sales Channel, through the preparation, presentation and influence of valuable analytical insights which encourage smarter, more informed decision making. 

The purpose of the role is to ensure financial stewardship of the Business through engaging in cross functional commercial decisions which will ultimately impact the profitability and cash flow of the organisation.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-

  • Ensure a timely distribution of financial information (plan & actual) to key stakeholders by presenting at regular monthly meetings

  • Promote efficiency in Commercial Finance to minimise time spent for report generation and increases time for analysis, commenting and insights sharing

  • Support the establishment of a true bottom-up planning process and contributes to a high forecasting accuracy of business plans, and revised estimates

  • Measure and review the cost/benefit ratio of proposed activities

  • Build solid relationships with stakeholders based on mutual respect, understanding of business and trust

  • Drive commercial and business performance culture through appropriate development, measurement and reporting of cross-functional key performance indicators.

  • Act as a key business partner and financial expert to other functions and stakeholders.

  • Develop reporting and tools to support functions to a high standard using range of tools available (Excel, Tableau, OneStream, etc).

  • Champion the Dyson finance core pillars of integrity and commercial success.

  • Demonstrate capability to use insights from sales reporting/P&L, margin reports etc. to influence, present strategies and enhance business operations

  • Influence all levels of the organisation through impactful communications, passion, business partnering and collaboration

  • Short, medium & long term planning cycle organisation ownership

About You

You will be outstanding at reporting financial information to finance and non-finance stakeholders and have methodical business planning capabilities. You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced team environment and can spot issues and trends, quickly flagging deviations from the strategy and business plans. You are extremely organised and have the highest level of integrity, honest and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Previous skills & experience:-

  • Extensive financial planning and analysis experience across full P&L.

  • Consumer goods or retail industry experience is desirable

  • Degree qualified and advanced accounting certification ideal

  • Strong Information systems and project management

  • Excellent communication and presenting skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communicational skills
