In this global scenario, Dyson Mexico is a fast-growing market that aims to become one of the business references of the Latin America cluster, scaling up Dyson technologies as well as corporate awareness to boost Dyson reputation locally. And a Comms manager on the ground plays a key role to achieve these goals being responsible for providing a strong strategy to enhance the Dyson story reputation externally and internally.

The Comms Manager will be required to successfully plan, implement and monitor the whole Dyson Comms strategy, both for product technologies and corporate, directly responsible for the Personal Care category (Beauty products) and Dyson as Retailer to support Dyson direct growth, Corporate and Internal communications, supervising a direct report (Comms Executive) in charge of Influencer relationship management, Floor Care/Environmental Care comms for Mexico, managing also a local agency in Mexico City to successfully implement the Comms Strategy in Mexico.

At Dyson we have unique stories to tell so the Comms Manager will be expected to bring her/his passion for Comms and social media, spreading the voice around Dyson, steadily identifying press opportunities, engaging media, influencers, Institutions, key opinion leaders and running internal comms/events to ensure Dyson Mexico employees are kept informed and motivated, promoting Dyson’s values and philosophy. Besides, Comms Manager will support the local team formulating organization’s response to potential crisis PR situations.

For this role, Dyson Mexico is seeking a resourceful, quick-witted storyteller, "out of the box thinker" digitally savvy and data driven mindset. The ideal candidate has a proven 10 - 12 years Comms experience and a documented immersion in social media, showing passion for engaging with media and social stakeholders on a daily basis. She/He’s a highly motivated person, willing to always be learning, as it’s a crucial component to her/his work success. She/He must proactively work with the Americas Comms team as cluster, always be aligned with the local Marketing/Digital team ensuring an aligned Comms approach, cooperate with Direct and Sales teams to share results, information and action plans. Generally speaking, coordination with all other market functions is needed to grant alignment to overall Dyson Mexico targets and guidelines. A team player who displays a positive, professional attitude all times, contributing to a positive work environment and demonstrating flexibility by adapting to changes in priorities.


Reporting to Communications Director of the Americas, the Comms Manager will work with direct responsibility on development, delivery and continuous improvement of the media + influencer strategy for Mexico, directly managing a resource responsible for FC&EC and Influencers Comms categories:

General Team Management:

  • Deliver local Comms (media and influencer) plans goal setting for Mexico.
  • Managing media relations on a daily basis for Consumer and Professional products, in order to secure qualitative coverage and reviews.
  • Excellent knowledge of the products and capable of explaining them in-depth as well as the brand story and narratives.
  • Monitoring press stories relating to Dyson and its technologies and maximizing opportunities for positive PR and playing down any negative PR.
  • Event planning skills: Organize digital/physical events to ensure the Dyson narrative lands in Mexico.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies and influencers.
  • Accountability and efficiency in Comms budget management.
  • People Management - Direct report (Comms executive) responsible for FC/EC and influencer strategy
  • Building strong working relationships with Group and other markets Comms team, esp. Canada and U.S (Americas cluster), to share ideas and best practices.
  • Nice to have: experience expanding CPG brands into other Latin America markets.

Hair Care comms ownership

  • Be the main point of contact for Personal Care related Comms, for both media & influencers, local Ambassador, internal as well as external stakeholders.  
  • Liaising with the Personal Care marketing team to create and coordinate strategies that work across different channels.
  • Identify best profiles to keep on developing and expanding Personal Care influencer outreach efforts: planning and running VIP, bloggers, youtubers, Instagrammers and influencers, including engagement campaigns, identifying also new targets, with related reporting to verify KPI's.
  • Research relevant industry experts to boost advocacy – es. Hairstylists, target audience and users for Personal Care category.
  • Trends analysis and KPIs identification to spot new opportunities and track/measure the impact of our Personal Care media as well as influencer campaigns efforts for success.

Retail Communications

  • Keep relevant media and influencers interested in Dyson as retailer, securing traditional and social media coverage.

Corporate communications

  • Plan and implement an integrated Corporate Comms strategy to increase brand awareness and recognition for Dyson.
  • Reinforce Dyson credentials and key messages relating to financial, educational, engineering, tech, sustainability and local initiatives narratives.
  • Collaboration with Institutions on relevant topics such as Education, Sustainability etc.
  • Successfully lead the James Dyson Award in Mexico, maintaining regular and close relationship with students and universities and assuring strong media coverage through the year.

Internal Communications

  • Develop and lead Dyson Internal communication plan/activities (physical and digital events, team building, newsletter etc) to engage the whole Iberian team working alongside with the local HR.
  • Preparing presentations and internal memos to ensure that internal stakeholders are constantly updated about vision, changes and projects within the company.

  • Knowledge of the Mexico media and influencers landscape; a plus if you have knowledge of cross-over Hispanic media between U.S. and LatAm
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly matrixed and deadline-oriented organization
  • Strong experience in live streams, newsletters, video production and events management
  • Strong judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urgent PR matters
  • Familiarity with public policy, community relations, and related communications tactics
