Compliance and Approvals Engineer - Safety


Design and Development
United Kingdom - Malmesbury Office


You will be a part of the Global Compliance and Approvals (C&A) team. We remove the barriers to accessing markets to make sure that Dyson products are compliant with all global regulatory standards and requirements. This includes, but not limited to:

  • Safety
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility
  • Radio Frequency
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Banned and Restricted Substances

You will be working in the Safety Compliance & Approvals team to support global compliance activities including working with engineering project teams, testing product samples, recording technical results and generating pre-compliance reports.


• Conduct Safety pre-compliance testing within C&A internal laboratory

• Contribute to verifying and testing compliance requirements for given projects

• Own lab-based activities to ensure efficient running of lab practices; calibration of equipment, risk assessments, security and general lab Health & Safety procedures

• Provide support to other C&A lab disciplines (Radio/EMC)

• Liaise with colleagues in Malaysia to ensure consistent lab practices across the global C&A team

• Contribute and participate to team internal reviews process, when required

• Own/contribute to team/department level initiatives & change projects

• Contribute to team input on relevant Safety standards update work as applicable

Skills Required

• Knowledge and understanding of compliance and technical standards principles

• Basic understanding of the compliance and approvals requirements related to Safety testing of Dyson products

• Experience of working in a laboratory environment

• Understanding/working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management System

• Good working knowledge of electronics

• Relevant experience of general R&D product development

• Proven ability to communicate through a variety of media

• Ability to plan, prioritise and co-ordinate with work of others

• Good problem solving, analytical and communication skills
