About The Team

As the ‘hub’ team delivering the data, technology and community provision enabling Dyson’s global data and analytics capabilities, Dyson Data Analytics team have end-to-end responsibility for data from foundations (DQ, MDM) to management (data platforms, integrations), to value realisation (analytics enablement and delivery).

Dyson Data and Analytics team is a multi-disciplinary, global team providing round-the-clock development and operations - including product and project management, community enablement, governance, data architecture, data engineering, data science, and analytics expertise.

Involved with every aspect of Dyson’s global business - from finance to product development, manufacturing to owner experience – the team is seeking to deliver solutions generating impressive and tangible business value.

About The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering Data Engineering excellence in the end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering projects and programmes for Dyson

  • Using programming languages and tools such as Python and SQL, to implement data pipelines

  • Leverage cloud computing platforms such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform) to build and implement scalable solutions

  • Involve in deployment, testing activities with hands on engineering and automation experience including CI/CD/CD and DataOps mindset

  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering and analytics, and continually seek opportunities to improve the organization’s data infrastructure and analytics capabilities

  • Contributing to technical designs and providing feedback and overall maintaining our documentation culture

  • Migrating existing pipelines onto the platform

  • Adapting quickly to change in requirements and be willing to work with different technologies if required

  • Strengthening data quality and reliability

We're looking for someone that has:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data & Analytics Engineer, or similar role

  • Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python) – ideally Python- and comfortable working with SQL to implement data pipelines, data models

  • Experience on data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow). Experience with dbt is a plus

  • Experience in writing clean code that can be easily understood by others

  • The ability to to understand and improve legacy code

  • Experience is identifying and building abstractions and tools to solve recurring challenges

  • The ability to apply agreed best practices and ways of working among our global data engineering team

  • The ability to provide constructive feedback through PRs and pairing

  • Experience with Infrastructure as a Code principles

  • A passion for data and want to empower the organisation with it

  • A self-driven mindset and is motivated to delivery

  • Experience with SQL and strong programming skills in a modern language (Python/Kotlin/Java/Scala)
