About Us 

Dyson Connectivity is responsible for defining a world-class Connected strategy, product and owner experience in the MyDyson App, to help take this amazing technology to market, explaining how our machines are different and their benefits. Where we demonstrate our machines and their superiority we win. Where we solve owner problems at speed, first time we win. But we also want to prevent issues from happening by analysing the data from sensors in our machines and the owner profiles we hold. We are also responsible for the development and delivery of the Connected features within the MyDyson App and Cloud. 

 

The next period of Dyson’s growth will see us taking our technology into more markets, doubling the business and quadrupling Direct. It will see our Owner base grow rapidly to 100m and a focus on both acquiring more Owners and retaining the Owners we have.

Connectivity will rely heavily on harnessing the power of data to provide insights back to the various areas of the business – NPI, RDD, Customer Services, Owner experience and GTM teams, to help make data-based decisions. Connectivity will also help us provide a more agile, mission based operating model. One which will enable us to continue our journey but in a more structured and efficient ways. 

 

We are on an exciting Connected journey where our emphasis is around providing a better owner experience for our Owners. To this end, we are investing heavily in bringing together machine, app and owner data to create bespoke recommendations – whether it be in help/support/guidance/repair/parts/machines – to our owners when they need it. 

 

About The Role 

  • Contribute to Product units Business cases to ensure a consistent approach is taken to value connected features 

  • Create insights and reporting from large and complex datasets to business partner and serve other Connectivity teams and wider business  

  • Support the development of the strategy for our connected services, including robust modelling of physical or digital product feature benefits, defining relevant KPIs, tracking benefits realisation, as well as producing actionable insights 

  • Monitor Market & trends to give the Dyson App a central place in the users’ smart ecosystems  

  • Support the creation and development of key contents for review with senior leadership such as internal updates, monthly steercos, boards meetings etc. 

  • Collaborate across functions, gather inputs and feedbacks while ensuring knowledge is shared and priorities are aligned 

  • A champion of connectivity benefits and principles as well as our core Dyson Values, communicating them across the wider business 

  • Understand what insights are relevant in the Digital space, including Customer service, App surveys, Social media sentiment, App stores reviews and performance, own-brand Social Community, Google Analytics, other channels to deliver a comprehensive picture of App performance and opportunities.  

  • Drive the Connectivity KPIs by creating bespoke datasets to help spot key opportunities and help shape our strategic plan and delivery roadmap 

  • Share relevant insights with stakeholders across the organisation to inform strategy and plans, becoming an advocate for Connectivity 

  • Work with upstream and downstream teams, delivering clear recommendations to inform opportunities for improvement and new features/technologies, both short and long term.  

  • Be passionate about the latest trends in digital and technology to help ensure our Digital proposition is innovative and world-class 

 

About you 

  • Highly numerical and analytical, able to generate insights and identify key themes and opportunities from data 

  • Track record of developing and managing complex excel modelling, combined with structured analysis and planning experience 

  • Be able to assimilate and shape large, unstructured datasets to enable business and strategic decision making by non-Data stakeholders 

  • Proficient in BI tools and languages (SQL, Tableau, Looker, Looker Studio) 

  • Self-driven, with the proven ability to initiate and drive projects in autonomy to deliver tangible outcomes 

  • Demonstrated understanding of key Financial performance principles (sales, profitability, budgeting) 

  • Similar Senior Business Analyst or Financial Analyst experience likely to be at least 5 years 

  • A great communicator and collaborator, able to nurture relationships with stakeholders and influence decision making 

  • Desirable experience collaborating with engineers, data scientists and researchers in the technology or digital industry
