Direct Retail Manager

Over the last 5 years, we’ve established our own retail proposition, opening over 200 Direct and Partner Dyson Demo stores around the world (across more than 20 different markets) as well as Mall Demo Zones, Pop-up Stores and Concession stores. Our ambition is to continue to grow our own retail presence, taking the number of global retail locations in the EMEA region.

About the Role

The Direct Retail Project Coordinator is responsible to support the development and growth of the direct retail business of Dyson in EMEA according to the business strategy of each country and to support markets and the EMEA store development team to plan, implement and support projects. In this role you will be mainly focusing on the Mall Demo Zones, Pop-up Stores and Concession store projects, but also support the Store development team with ad hoc requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with markets to align the strategy and roll out plans on MDZ and Concessions in line with Direct Retail regional direction. Manage integrated yearly and LT roadmap and contribute to strategic presentations with the support of EMEA Head of Implementation and Retail Director for finance review for business reviews and bgt.
  • Provide guidelines based on group and regional requirements and deliver clear framework to help the market developments and sign off process. Update or create the right tools to ensure execution excellence.
  • Help them define and execute commercial initiatives and business models to increase footprint, Direct Retail awareness, and profit growth in the Region : Concession, Pop up store
  • From the beginning onwards, take ownership for the project - from business cases until the final execution of the type of project you are dealing with.
  • Lead key milestones ensuring perfect bridge between market, EMEA and Group internal key stakeholders including Retail CoE, Group design, development, IT, production and retail marketing. Coordinate communication with external vendors and identify initiatives to increase project performance and cost efficiency. As such strong project management skills combined with an understanding for basic constructional and financial background are required.
  • The cooperation & communication with internal, external and market stakeholders are key in this role to maintain the pace, efficiency, and flexibility to deliver projects on time.
  • The ability to work with international team members in the EMEA hub and across the boarders is crucial to define and optimize the perfect cooperation and standards.

You will report into the Head of Direct Retail Implementation Manager, with doted line to the EMEA direct retail Director and you need to be a great communicator updating on project progress, risk, cost, options to solve problems and delivery on a regular basis.

About You

  • General business degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience and proven record in similar project management position in retail
  • Strong Project Management experience and an ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong reporting capability focusing on cost, risk, progress.
  • Have a good understanding of the state of premium retail to support business decisions and develop a strong Retail culture within the region 
  • Experience in taking a project from conceptualization to execution
  • Ability on defining project objectives, project scope, roles & responsibilities; outlining a budget, preparing project plans, managing delivery of the project according to plan
  • Process driven thinker with an ability to flex, be reactive and think on the spot
  • Business acumen and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with project management software tools & methodologies
  • Customer Experience focus
  • Fluent in English written & spoken
  • Readiness to travel across EMEA if required
