Finance is a key partner to the US Dyson business, helping to guide and shape strategy and business decisions every day. The Head of FP&A and Fixed Costs, Americas will manage financial planning, analysis and reporting for the Americas business. Working hand in hand with the regional leadership team and the Dyson Global finance organization to monitor and explain Americas business performance. In addition, this role will be the finance lead for regional costs, responsible for developing the bottoms up forecast and budget while managing and understanding results / incurred costs in these areas.

About the role

Executive Reporting and Presentation:
  • Creation and coordination of all Americas submissions into Dyson headquarters, including forecasts, working capital reporting, performance commentary, ad hoc inquiries, etc.
  • Advanced presentation skills to create executive presentations for the Americas President and Dyson Global Leadership Team, including annual budget / business reviews
  • Partner with Dyson headquarters to convey Americas performance / results and implement global initiatives 

Regional System and Process Improvement: 
  • Partnership with market Finance Directors to help drive market performance and growth
  • Americas long range modelling and annual target setting
  • Work with Regional Finance Directors to identify opportunities to improve and streamline planned reporting and ad hoc reporting requests across the region

Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of 5 focused in the aforementioned areas
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and career development opportunities for all team members
  • Clearly communicate organizational objectives and tasks to the team and provide support needed for the team to successfully complete their goals and responsibilities

Americas Fixed Cost Management:
  • Oversight of Americas cost structure – customer care costs, overheads, depreciation, other costs, including the planning, forecasting and reporting of results and explanation of variances to plans and to prior years
  • Partnership with Americas leadership team members to understand, plan and maintain costs in their respective areas
  • Partnership with market finance directors and cross-functional business partners to identify and implement cost savings opportunities
  • Management and oversight over the Americas zero-based-budgeting, reporting, and analytics

Americas FP&A:
  • Ownership of the Americas finance monthly close, forecast and annual budget calendar
  • Leadership and coordination over the Americas monthly forecasting and annual budget processes
  • Standardize, streamline and simplify Americas financial forecasting and reporting across all 3 Americas markets
  • Review of Americas performance and summarization of results for Americas leadership team and Dyson board

About you

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance role, with a minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Experience with financial consolidation tools such as OneStream or Oracle Hyperon is a plus
  • SAP experience is desired
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint are required
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to understand business models and their financial implications​
  • Ability to understand, audit and apply key accounting principles​
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to influence and interpret financial information to provide insight to senior management​
  • Global / Regional commercial FP&A with financial modelling know-how​
  • Process and system improvement capabilities, particularly in the areas of forecasting and reporting
  • Experience driving a team of people to deliver defined and agreed objectives to schedule​
  • Experience in developing new ways of working and aligning commercial strategy & actions against financial objectives​
  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional and diverse stakeholders, with the willingness to work across global time-zones if required​
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is required, an MBA a plus
