About us

Dyson Farming is the pre-eminent commercial farming business in the UK.  Extending to 35,000 acres and operating across a diverse range of enterprises, the business has made a remarkable journey since its inception in 2012. The recent investment in the 'state of the art' glasshouse complex to produce strawberries under the Dyson brand is just one example of their strategy to add value to all core enterprises and they want to develop this further.  

Dyson Farming is now looking for a successful and inspirational Managing Director with outstanding commercial acumen and the experience to lead this multi-faceted business into a new phase of growth.   

About the role

The Managing Director will lead Dyson Farming to be recognised as a force for good in British agriculture, striving to be the “best in class” in all that it does and positioning itself as a leader in using new technology and innovation, where possible leveraging any synergies from the Dyson Group. 

The Managing Director will promote a high-performance culture within a safe working environment to build sustainable operations and achieve profitable business growth.  At the same time increasing value from brand development by ensuring added value and direct supply activities are embedded within the company ambition to capture more from the value chain. 

About you

The successful Managing Director will be a highly motivated and inspirational people focused leader, capable of building high performing teams at all levels and delivering results against an ambitious Board strategy. Candidates will have the experience to manage change, financial acumen and the commercial skills to drive the business forward as an innovative, sector-leading, self-sufficient and diversified enterprise.  

Applicants will demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence to provide effective leadership and communication to successfully operate within a corporate structure with multiple stakeholders. Commercial leadership experience in the Agrifood/Agribusiness sector at Board or Divisional level is desirable but not essential.
