About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Build Technician to join our team working at the forefront of designing new Dyson products. In this role you will be responsible for designing and building electrical prototypes and test rigs for all our product lines. This is an exciting role working right at the forefront of our new product.

In this role you will be responsible for the design, build and documentation of the electrical aspects of custom test rigs which will be utilised for a variety of research experiments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build specialised electrical systems & test equipment to support the investigations conducted by the wider Research team.

  • Develop bespoke test rigs to enable the safe investigation of complex early-stage prototypes.

  •  Work with engineers and scientists to design, build and commission test rigs according to relevant industry regulations.

  • Produce high quality supporting documentation.

  • Liaise with electrical and test engineers around Dyson to align on appropriate build and test standards.

  • Carry out maintenance to the facilities and equipment including regular calibration and auditing. 

About You

  • Previous working experience, with evidence of hands-on application.

  • Proven track record of delivering rigs / prototypes / machines.

  • Familiar with software packages, such as EPLAN, is required for electrical system design & documentation.

  • Experienced in technical writing, to include Operation & Maintenance manuals for delivered equipment.

  • Skilled in the incorporation of Microprocessor boards such as Arduino and PLCs for control of test rigs.

  • Practical application of the above in the build, commissioning, test, and approval of electrical systems.

  • Experience of PCB assembly and rework of conventional and surface mount components with an understanding of anti static handling procedures.
