About the role

The Floorcare Electronics System Integration team, based in Malmesbury, England, is responsible for developing and integrating the electronics solutions for new and pioneering Dyson Floorcare products. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, developing disruptive technologies that require increasingly complex electronics solutions to deliver a rapidly increasing Dyson product portfolio.

You will work in multi-disciplinary global project teams to develop integrated electronics solutions for new and pioneering consumer appliance products within Dyson’s Floorcare category. You may also work with the Research and New Product Innovation teams to investigate and develop novel electronic design concepts to support and realise new Dyson product ideas.

  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits.

  • Work with the team to integrate the electronics solutions at system and product levels.

  • Participate in design reviews, technical risk analyses, troubleshooting, and investigations to proactively solve complex problems.

  • Produce detailed engineering materials including design schematics, PCB layouts, tolerance analyses, design notes, FMEA, failure analysis reports, and technical review documents.

  • Liaise and collaborate with various Dyson engineering teams (Mechanical, Compliance, Reliability, Software, Manufacturing, Test, etc) across the UK and South East Asia to develop new Dyson products through to production.

About you

As an Electronics Engineer you will have at least a bachelor-level degree in a discipline which contains a significant focus on Electronics Engineering. You will be capable of working with moderate supervision and guidance from Senior engineering staff to generate high quality analogue and digital circuit design solutions. Preferably you will have some experience of electronics design for consumer products in mass production.

  • Degree qualified in a relevant electronics discipline.

  • Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software such as Mentor Graphics.

  • Experience using simulation tools to support design calculations, tolerance analysis, and documentation.

  • Experience with standard electronics laboratory and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, AC/DC power sources, power meters, etc.

  • Preferably knowledge of home appliance safety requirements and regulatory certification at PCBA and product levels, including EMC/ESD.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver high quality results within challenging project timelines.

  • Highly motivated and self-driven with good communication skills, and team working experience.
