About the role:

  • Supervise and report resource utilization and identify current & potential bottleneck/s that hinders productivity on regular intervals.
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
  • Responsible on laboratory management, safety, 5S and equipment maintenance.
  • Selects and adapts most appropriate test methods and techniques from a variety of possibilities. As needed, researches and develops new or modifies methods and techniques when standard ones are inadequate.
  • Operates, tests, maintain and calibrates instruments, equipment and related components, which may be extremely delicate and sensitive; adjusts and resolves new and unusual problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining in proper working order equipment, instruments and related apparatus, which may be highly specialized or prototype; trouble-shoots and resolves problems of unusual difficulty; may be responsible for design, construction/build or modification of such equipment.
  • Perform test and collects test data. Prepare and conduct experiments if necessary.
  • Independently performs tests, calculate & analyses/evaluate results. And prepares comprehensive reports which document methodology, evaluate findings and explain other information pertinent to the analysis.
  • Creates, modify & maintain procedures/work instructions for the laboratory
  • Manages a large complex laboratory operation, with responsibility for the quality and quantity of the work of others, proper maintenance of laboratory conditions, safety procedures, work instructions, equipment, instruments and supplies, files and records.
  • Prepares budget (CAPEX & OPEX) requests and manages approved budget.
  • Initiates purchases of equipment and supplies; maintains contact with vendors and searches commercial market to determine availability and cost of equipment/instruments to meet needs of the department
  • Trains, supervises and evaluates technical and support staff; determines work schedules and work assignments; recommends staffing levels.
  • Maintains laboratory supplies through inventory management, ordering & receiving of goods.
  • Initiates purchases of equipment and supplies; maintains contact with vendors and searches commercial market to determine availability and cost of equipment/instruments to meet needs of the department
  • Any other request as deemed necessary by the management for the betterment of the electronic laboratory department.
  •  Responsibilities/Tasks Electrical / Electronic Test rig design and build Manage lab equipment including allocation, maintenance and calibration Manage laboratory inventory of consumables, expenses and approved budget. Train, supervises and evaluates technical and support staffs.

About you:

  • Requirements A minimum of Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required, reinforced with practical engineering experience and preferably has experience working in RDD electronics environment
  • The candidate must have good practical skills in equipment maintenance and calibration. 
  • An ability to execute a test independently, from setup to result reporting is necessary. 
  • A good level of understanding with laboratory management including manpower planning and budget.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office is required with emphasis on the use of Excel.
  • Good at communicating at all levels and able to work in a self-motivated way as well as in a team. 
  • Familiarity in the operation of electronic test equipment. Familiar with ISO17025 is an advantage.
  • Persistent nature demonstrated by an inquisitive approach.  Able to work from either verbal or written brief. 
  • Ability to work on several tasks concurrently without losing focus.
