About the Role

Based in Lisbon, the field manager will report into the Country Manager to ensure Dyson’s retail and sales strategy is delivered in the country. He/she will be responsible for 3rd party retail shopping experience, ensuring perfect in-store execution and selective distribution monitoring. Besides, he/she is responsible for training and demonstrations (both physical and digital) in electrical and beauty retailers.

As Field Manager you will drive engagement and compliance within our retail partners, and build awareness of the Dyson brand within our retailer’s stores assuring the visibility of the brand in the stores, making training and also improving the sell-out. You will deliver transformation across our retail landscape and you will lead the retail execution and sales growth across the Country through our key third-party retail customers, through an indirect team of around 13.

Function objectives:

The Field Manager is responsible for the Field, Demo and Training strategy for Portugal country. He/she leads the indirect territory managers to ensure best in class retail experience in our indirect channels.

  • Lead the retail execution and sales growth across the Country through our key third-party retail customers

  • Lead an indirect team of around 13 Territory sales managers.

  • Coach these teams to ensure they execute the retail strategy in their business areas

  • Ability to manage key stakeholders effectively across a matrix organization through developing outstanding relationships with others

  • develop strategies that support the successful launches of NPD in store

  • continually seeking opportunities to be the first to do things and be best in class, including driving efficiency for the long-term success of our retail presence

  • The role will require strong operational capability to draw insight and action to enable the team to react at pace to trends as well as pro-actively shaping future activity.

  • Proactively analyse national sales out data, infrastructure and investment, market trends and competitor information, whilst identifying sales opportunities and anticipating obstacles.

  • Use this commercial analysis to develop and lead the execution of short and long-term initiatives that add value

  • Be able to demonstrate the commercial value of Dyson to retail partners and effectively build joint business plans to deliver growth

  • Having flexibility to travel in this role is a must, as well as being comfortable with overnight stays.

Accountabilities:

The successful person will be responsible for a certain number of stores that will be visited periodically in order to help the retailers to growth in sales and also to enhance the brand awareness within our 3rd party retail customers across Portugal, by building brand advocacy, executing best-in-class customer experiences, and developing strong relationships with our retailer colleagues in store.

Where we demonstrate, we win. You will lead a team of indirect third party Territory managers in-store, motivating, coaching and ensuring the compliance strategy is executed.

The principals are:

  • Be the brand ambassador of Dyson in the country

  • Implement Dyson Strategy in point of sale

  • Ensure the perfect Dyson consumer experience

  • Lead a team of Demonstrator in store and control his /her job and the execution of the perfect demo

  • Boost the sell out

  • Training the staff in the point of sales periodically  to assure the perfect demo

  • Improve the premium visibility of the brand implementing merchandising materials following the Dyson guidelines

  • Conquering new spaces in stores (better spaces, second placement)

  • Assure stocks

  • Analyze competitors

  • Reduces returns offering solutions, working close with our Costumer Services

  • Making weekly reports trough Salesforce

  • Propose, create and implement actions and events to enhance the sellout

About You

  • Retail/Sales experience

  • People Management Experience

  • Sales oriented

  • Previous target driven experience required

  • Excellent decision-making ability

  • Good time management, ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Analytical skills

  • Good working knowledge of both written and spoken English and Portuguese
