About the Role

As the Field Sales Manager (m/f/d) you will lead the retail execution and sales growth across the Country through our key third-party retail customers and an indirect team of around 35. You will sit on the senior leadership team within the sales function, and deliver transformational growth across our retail landscape. 

Description: 

Reporting into the Head of Retail, the Field Sales Manager is responsible for 3rd party retail shopping experience. He/she leads the field team to ensure perfect in-store execution and selective distribution monitoring. Besides, he/she is responsible for training and demonstrations (both physical and digital) in electrical and beauty retailers.  

Function objectives: 

The Field Sales Manager is responsible for the Field, Demo and Training strategy. He/she leads both the education team and the Area Managers to ensure best in class retail experience through the indirect channel.  

  • Lead the retail execution and sales growth across the Country through our key third-party retail customers 

  • Lead a team of 6 direct report, and an indirect team of around 25. 

  • Coach these leaders to ensure their teams execute the retail strategy in their business areas 

  • Ability to manage key stakeholders effectively across a matrix organization through developing outstanding relationships with others 

  • develop strategies that support the successful launches of NPD 

  • continually seeking opportunities to be the first to do things and be best in class, including driving efficiency for the long-term success of our retail presence 

  • The role will require strong operational capability to draw insight and action to enable the team to react at pace to trends as well as pro-actively shaping future activity. 

  • Proactively analyse national sales out data, infrastructure and investment, market trends and competitor information, whilst identifying sales opportunities and anticipating obstacles. 

  • Use this commercial analysis to develop and lead the execution of short and long-term initiatives that add value 

  • Be able to demonstrate the commercial value of Dyson to retail partners and effectively build joint business plans to deliver growth 

  • Having flexibility to travel in this role is a must, as well as being comfortable with overnight stays. 

Leadership responsibilities 

  • Distribution: working with the Head of Retail and the Senior Key Account Manager, the Field Sales Manager will create the distribution strategy in line with Dyson principles for a sustainable long-term growth  

  • Team workload: based on tasks and distribution, he/she will create the right guidelines set for the field team to guarantee the right in-store experience and to monitor our selective distribution system 

  • Training Strategy: coordinating our retail education specialist and beauty education specialist, he/she will create the training strategy for all physical stores (including direct stores).  

  • Demos: owner of the demonstration budget, the Field Sales Manager will create and execute with the team the demo strategy working both with internal and outsourced Dyson experts.  

  • Digital Demos: the team will also focus on the digital demos’ division, to ensure our shopping experience reaches high standards also online 

Be an active member of the Retail Sales Leadership Team 

  • Take part in regular meetings with the rest of the Retail leadership team (Head of Retail and Senior Key Account Manager) to provide and receive updates on the business, work in synergy and align on critical decisions;  

  • Lead by example and be a point of reference for the younger generations within the Company; behave in line with our core values, be willing to support others when needed.  

  • Provide relevant feedback to your peers and their team members to enable and support an high performing culture
