Finance Associate

About the role:

The Finance Associate as part of the Sales Finance Team will partner with US sales, demand planning and marketing teams to drive profitable decision making through product mix and promotional spend analysis to ensure that the US market is able to continue our business growth and achieve our ambitious goals.

  • Serve as a business partner to the US Sales Team
  • Partner with the sales team to ensure quality evaluation is performed to measure the return on investment
  • Provide detailed commentary of effectiveness of investment and variances vs expectations
  • Ensure approval is secured for promotional activities of sales accounts
  • Work cross functionally to ensure promotional spend is accrued accurately
  • Assist with the annual budget and monthly re-forecast process 
  • Analyze retailer plans to ensure goals are in line with corporate objectives 
  • Financial Reporting, SAP Pricing Maintenance and Financial Data administration
  • Support financial analysis, commentary and reporting to develop insights and recommendations
  • Lead for updating and maintaining accurate product and customer pricing in SAP
  • Provide support for finance data in our forecasting tool
  • Special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Identify problems and find solutions
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
  • Think outside of the box, identifying opportunities for improvement

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required 
  • Minimum 0-2 years in a corporate finance role required, preferably with experience in a sales & marketing organization
  • Proven experience analyzing and resolving issues around forecasting and budgeting
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of spreadsheets – the ability to quickly understand business scenarios and model them is critical
  • Advanced knowledge/ proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Demonstrates understanding of the preparation, analysis and presentation of corporate financial statements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence through clear presentation and communication of complex data analysis
  • Competence with fundamentals of project management required
  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multi task
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
