About the team
The Group Financial Control team is a new and growing team within the wider group finance function. The team has been set up to identify and embed improvements in our financial control processes across Dyson as a whole. Collectively we drive global consistency and compliance, updating and creating policies and procedures to present the best possible financial information for our key stakeholders to make business decisions.
The team reports into the Director of Accounting, Reporting and Control. Working in a lean team will really allow you to be hands on from day 1 and make a real difference to the scope and depth of the teams work
About the role
We are looking for someone to join our dynamic Group Finance team to support the Group Finance Control Manager in leading improvements to Dyson’s financial control framework, ensuring best practice and a consistent approach globally. As the business expands and evolves, the team will look to ensure we have an effective control environment that is fit for purpose and scalable for the future.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to drive forward how the Dyson Group enhances the integrity of our financial reporting globally, as well as acting as the primary contact for all our entities based in Asia-Pacific. You will work closely with local finance directors, executives, and other senior stakeholders to ensure all key financial processes in the region have rigorous controls processes, monitoring and reporting.
We are looking for someone who has project management experience, strong financial controls knowledge and enjoys communicating with a wide range of different teams and people.
Accountabilities
Lead controls walkthroughs, documentation and testing for our Group, RDD, Operations and Market teams based in Asia
Support in the development of global risk and controls matrices for our significant financial processes
Development, documentation and embedding of group financial control policies
Collaborate with markets and support functions to ensure compliance to Group policies
Support in the development of the Dyson financial controls framework and associated governance reporting
Involvement in key projects to provide a financial control lens to any deliverables
About you
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or local equivalent)
Experience of internal/external audit or an internal control function
Understanding of financial controls framework and processes, with SOX experience preferable
Strong interpersonal skills, including communication and project management across a global set of stakeholders
Flexible in approach with good organizational and prioritization skills
Self-starter, proactive and able to quickly grasp issues, with a mindset to drive change and improvements
High levels of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
Logical mind-set and a problem solver
A strong appetite to drive and embed change across the organization
