About the Role
A part of our Professional b2b business, our Sales Manager team will epitomise the entrepreneurial spirit that has defined Dyson since day one: ambitious, commercially savvy, and strategically agile. We work with some of the world’s biggest companies, driving innovative ways to put our technology into more locations to enhance both their customers and their employees. It requires managing multiple networks of Dyson people. It takes ownership, courage and tough negotiations. Being constantly driven to see clearer solutions and drive better sales.
The GB&I Sales Manager – Specification will specifically focus on building a network of relationships and ultimately selling into Architects, Interior Designers, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers (M&E) and Contractors with a laser focus on the specification of Dyson’s Premium Technology being their solution of choice. Also, in Within this sector there will be a key focus on creating a vision with clients – from CAT A with our future-proof washroom solutions, to CAT B where our plug-and-play technology comes to the fore – such as Circadian Task Lighting providing the right type of light at the right time of day, to our Purification solutions ensuring everyone has access to Clean Air, particularly indoors.
Other opportunities will definitely arise for our other products so a true cross category experience is possible in this sector for our customers and theirs alike. For a lot of people this could be their first interaction with Dyson Technology so it’s important that we ensure we provide a “perfect serve” of this product and all our technologies.
Deliver GM sales targets and volume
Develop an annual business vertical plan that sets out the key strategic aims for Dyson and the vertical
Agree, update, communicate and administer all areas of the vertical plan
Manage a marketing budget in line with forecasts and promotional activity for the sector
Deliver an accurate twelve month rolling forecast that accounts for; project sales trends & seasonality market dynamics.
Use of CRM system to forecast and deliver against set targets for the sector.
Deliver compelling, well thought through and inspiring presentations to our specifiers and customers
Construct bespoke “Customer winning proposals” to solve the problems they currently have.
Hold regular face to face meetings with Key customers and specifiers within this vertical
Organise and deliver quarterly vertical reviews between senior personnel at Dyson and key customers
Work with internal departments to drive through agreed customer and specifier initiatives.
Manage all areas of the Customer Specifier/Dyson partnership relationship
Effectively manage a network of contacts within Dyson and the customer across different functions to ensure that accounts and project are set up and managed and orders placed/delivered correctly.
Manage Terms and Negotiations
Align the organisation to your sector and negotiation objectives
Communicate and deliver against an agreed timetable
Ability to construct/seek support for potential Global opportunities within the sector
Champion thought leadership within the sector
Manage industry partnerships, memberships and thought leadership opportunities
Deliver CPD’s to specifiers and customers – showcasing Dyson expertise
Deliver a high quality of work and contributions to Overall Vertical team, whilst providing day to day guidance and development to the wider GB&I team
Lead through example and demonstrate leadership in all team meetings
Coach and motivate less experienced team members
Fulfil other duties as required

Strong new specification sales experience for a high profile brand
Proven delivery of sales targets and large projects
Worked with and contributed to a high performing sales team
Has been exposed to senior/board room level negotiations
Evidence of forecasting across multiple products
Level of financial acumen and commercial awareness
Working knowledge of the construction and specification industry
