Overview – Dyson Southeast Asia

Dyson has set up a regional office for Southeast Asia in Singapore. The SG office will provide the vision and strategy to Dyson’s business in key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.

About the Role

  • To lead a global enabling function (PMO) that oversees and governs the execution and delivery of the annual Capital Investment Plan spanning all Capex Projects and Programmes within Dyson Global Estates.

  • To assure alignment of Capital Plans to Dyson strategy and objectives. 

  • To forecast and manage the business and program-level risks and issues while providing commercial assurance and oversight during the capital planning process, business case and funding approvals process and during delivery and transition to operations.

  • Maintain the Capital Projects governance and assurance framework aligned to Dyson standard operating procedures and policy, including alignment to procurement standards and supplier management/compliance requirements.

  • Lead a team of direct reports to provide assurance to the Executive relating to Capital Plan performance and enable effective decision making through appropriate reports and controls.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of the annual Capital Plan.

  • Support the business to prioritise propositions and programs of work.

  • Lead the evolution of the existing Capital Projects Manual (the functional Process and Procedures) to be agile, appropriate and governable in support of the broad range of Capex projects that are delivered by Estates. 

  • Align delivery approaches across project teams into the centralised capital management and projects delivery framework.

  • Development and administration of a reporting platform that provides a real-time single source of the truth of the ‘health’ of individual projects and broader global programme, and the creation of a suite of Exec level reports.

  • Support the establishment of improvements to the existing team structure, resource mix and internal capabilities as required to realise capital program targets.

  • In partnership with the Procurement Category lead, develop and oversee the vendor strategy to cover consultants, contractors and suppliers to deliver Capex spend for optimum cost and an ability to transact at pace, against a robust framework of KPI’s.

  • Provide accurate reports to the Exec to enable decision making and mitigate underperformance and risk.

  • Collaborate and integrate with different regions across the portfolio to develop a single source of truth program information.

  • Establish KPI’s that embed and drive continuous improvement across management and delivery teams, including external suppliers and contractors.

  • Identify and manage key program stakeholders by consistently informing them of any issues and risks that may impact the delivery of an individual project and therefore the program.

  • Identify and manage risks and issues across a portfolio of projects delivering mitigation strategies to minimize cost.

  • Capacity Planning - Monitor program team capacity across the end-to-end program lifecycle to avoid peaks in delivery.

About You

  • Relevant experience leading Global PMOs in Major Projects/Programs of comparable scale and complexity

  • Demonstrable success in establishing and leading teams in Major Projects/Programs of comparable scale and complexity

  • Relevant experience (15+ years) working in PMOs/Major Project Delivery roles

  • Professional qualification to demonstrate suitability for the role

  • Ideally an Agile Certified Practitioner

  • Application of Modern Methods of Construction

  • Demonstrated success of working within project teams in the planning, development and execution of a pipeline of capital works within a live operational environment

  • Experience in working within project teams to achieve the planned benefits and business objectives

  • Experience in successfully collaborating with multiple stakeholders both internally in a matrix structure as well as externally, including joint venture partners
