About Us

The Head of Performance Media plays a pivotal role within the Global Media team to help us achieve our ambitions as a technology enterprise. Strategic role working closely with our Direct teams to deliver efficient performance campaigns to execute on direct strategies and reporting of relevant results. The role reports into the Global Media Director and has an international team matrix, within each of our Centres of Excellence (CoE’s). 

The Head of Performance Media will steward and guide all teams on how to execute performance media channels against our direct ambitions. The role will work  hand in hand with the planning / digital heads to manage the performance media strategy.  This role will be part of a growing media team and will support in ensuring as we grow our direct to consumer ambitions we have all the right levers for efficiency bedded into the the plans.  The role will also be ensuring all measurement tools for optimisation are reflected in how the media agency operates and optimises.  

London / Malmesbury (30% travel) 

The Team


Group Media plays a large role in helping enable our global markets to activate best in class media strategies. Our job is to provide the tools for enablement, give guidance, share learnings and support markets to hit all the expected goals and objectives for the Dyson business. Our team works cross-functionally with most all commercial and channel teams. We also work with our regional CoEs, in-market media teams, and in-house Media Tech team to create best-in-class media strategies, reporting and measurement tools. 


You will be joining us during an exciting period of rapid growth where our business is focused on growing our digital maturity, with an increased focus on the Direct business growth. There will be potential to make a real impression in this role, driving through our digital transformation globally. 

About the Role

  • Be the face and voice of performance media and capabilities, supporting the Global Media Director 
  • Own the relationship with direct and the local teams 
  • Ensure efficiency is at the bedrock of what we do.  
  • Work closely to drive reporting requirements into the data and analytics team 
  • Build relationships with key teams such as Direct, Media Tech, data and analytics, our Global Media Agency. 
  • Own all of the pillars of the JBP’s that relate to performance media / direct.  
  • Grow our Direct business 
  • Vision:  Seamless collaboration between media & direct teams, to deliver paid and organic media targets over the long-term, driving short term revenue and long-term brand health and customer experience. 
  • Own the media team contribution to daily direct trading meetings and ensure a collaborative working relationship is maintained to deliver the right media plans to hit the right targets (hard and soft metrics)   
  • Future proof how we forecast demand in digital, working with our media agency partner and internal teams 
  • Evolve how we set media targets to set our revenue contributions for direct, Own the whole methodology. 
  • Spearhead how we generate efficiencies across our activity, and reduce duplication between 3rd party retail investments we make, and Direct media investments. 
  • Underpin the Dyson planning process with latest developments in performance media execution 
  • Own all the “direct” pillars within the global JBP’s 

About you

  • Strong experience in Digital acquisition as well as upper funnel branding on large retail brands. With a good working knowledge on ecommerce operations and driving direct to consumer growth 
  • Proven history in successfully delivering large, complex DR focused digital campaigns (ideally gained on retail brands) 
  • Use of paid search technology platforms (ideally DS, Adobe) 
  • Experience across all areas of paid media including programmatic (audience first), native & video and can plan customer journeys across all touch points 
  • Detail oriented and comfortable with manipulating, analysing and questioning large data sets 
  • Excellent with Excel & PowerPoint  
  • Curious and proactive mindset that will dig into challenges as they come up 
  • Passionate for and in tune with the latest digital media trends 
  •  Excellent communicator and team player
