About the Role
Lead a team of Regional Project Controls leads to provide audible assurance to Dyson executive relating to Capital Investment Plan (CIP) performance and enable effective decision making through appropriate reports and controls.
Support the Global Head of Enablement to oversee and govern the execution and delivery of the annual Capital Investment plan across all Projects and Programmes group wide. Providing audible assurance of alignment of Capital Plans to Dyson strategy and objectives.
Develop and ensure application of a Project Controls process suite required to forecast and manage business and programme level risks and issues while providing commercial, programme and process assurance and oversight during the capital planning process, business case and funding approvals process and during delivery and transition to operations.
Support the Global Head of Enablement to maintain Dyson governance and assurance framework aligned to Dyson standard operating procedures and policies.
Measures of Performance
Maintain single source data management and reporting capability enabling efficient and accurate decision making.
Driving consistency in process relating to planning and management of the Capital Planning process and delivery of programmes and projects.
Provide data driven insights to realise health and safety, risk and value improvements and capital efficiency targets, including value for money and commercial benefits year on year.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities (but not limited to)
Establish and maintain consistent, efficient and agile projects controls across all regions and Major Projects and Programmes. Including but not limited to; schedule management, scope management, project reporting, HSE management, risk management and change management.
Establish and maintain consistent and efficient programme controls across all regions and Major Projects and Programmes. Including but not limited to; Capital delegations, governance frameworks, data management and reporting, integrated master schedules, stakeholder communications and document control.
Establish and maintain data management systems and technology platforms to enable efficient and effective planning, management and reporting of the capital programme.
Support the business to prioritise propositions and programmes of work.
Support continuous improvement of project and programme performance through a framework of data driven insights captured across the regional teams and Major Projects and Programmes.
Support the establishment of improvements to team structure, resource mix and internal capabilities as required to realise capital programme targets.
Provide accurate reports to Dyson execs to enable decision making and mitigate under performance and risk.
Align delivery approaches across regional project teams and Major Projects and Programmes under centralised capital management and projects delivery frameworks.
Collaborate and integrate with different regions and Major Projects across the programme to develop single source of truth programme information.
Drive Continuous Improvement across management and delivery teams, including external suppliers and contractors.
Identify and manage key programme stakeholders by consistently informing them of any issues and risks that may impact the delivery of an individual project and therefore the programme.
Identify and manage risks and issues across the programme identifying mitigation strategies to minimise cost.
Capacity Planning - Monitor programme team capacity across the end-to-end programme lifecycle to avoid peaks in delivery.
Support Dyson Internal Audit on any reviews and manage through remediation recommendations.
Relevant experience developing controls of comparable scale and complexity.
Relevant experience coordinating dispersed complex projects and programmes of comparable scale and complexity.
Demonstrable success in leading project teams of comparable scale and complexity.
Relevant experience (10+ years) working in PMOs/Project Controls roles.
Professional qualification to demonstrate suitability for role.
Certified Lean Practitioner desired but not essential.
Demonstrated success of working within project teams in the planning, development and execution of a pipeline of capital works within a live operational environment.
Experience of working within project teams to achieve the planned benefits and business objectives.
Experience in successfully collaborating with multiple stakeholders both internally in a matrix structure as well as externally.
